benjy_b
After owning the Forester for just over two months, I'm putting it up for sale. The main reason being the fuel consumption, 25mpg is just not what I'm used to, coming from a TDI Golf. I really like everything about the car, except the engine. I fear I've spent too much time in diesels Whilst in my ownership I experienced a breakdown caused by a split in the top hose to the radiator. Luckily, I managed to stop before it caused any further damage. I have fitted a second hand top hose and replaced the coolant with Halfords 5 Years OAT & Subaru Coolant Conditioner. After carrying out the coolant system repairs, the car decided it didn't want to charge the Battery (I believe the alternator may have been damaged when the engine bay was soaked with coolant mixture). I have subsequently replaced the alternator with a second hand item and now it is charging properly.Car: Subaru Forester turbo SEngine: 2.0l turboTransmission: ManualMOT: Expires 19th May 2016Mileage: 125000Price: £1000Location: Batley, West YorkshireContact: 07900152783Here's the spec:2000 Subaru Forester turbo S 2.0l Turbo 5 Speed Manual AWD Black 124268 Miles Full Service History Black & Yellow Leather Interior Heated Front Seats Front Arm Rests Large Sunroof Air ConditioningPower Steering Electric Windows Front Fog Lights Heated Wipers Heated Wing MirrorsHeated Wiper Blades12 Storage Compartments 5 Cup HoldersGenuine Boot TrayCarpet MatsDealer Accessory Forester Rear Reflective PanelWinter Tyres Prodrive Exhaust BackboxProdrive Rear Anti Roll Bar (Not fitted)Superflex Rear Anti Roll Bar Bushes (Not Fitted)USDM Side Indicators (Not Fitted)5x Dealer Workshop ManualsDealer Accessories BrochureHaynes Manual Bad bits: Small chip in windscreen, mid-passenger sideCrack on windscreen, lower passenger side, hardly visible Bodywork showing signs of age, couple of dents and some hazing to the paintHeadlight Washers not working, faulty pumpCambelt due @ 130k milesI am asking £1000, which I believe to be a very fair price. I will respond to all text messages/phone calls and PM's, but don't be surprised if you're met with hostility when you ask if I will take £750 and a packet of Rolos. If you view the car, offer lower than £1000 and give me justification for your offer. Then I may consider it.Upon viewing, if you insist on a test drive then I expect you bring the full cash amount and proof of insurance. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.The car is available for viewing most days in Batley, West Yorkshire
