Bouncer Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Sounds a stupid question I know but when putting other calipers on today the washers I loosened were a black type, not copper....should I put copper on

Jay762 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Copper tends to be the standard approach, the ones you have may be copper underneath but for the cost of them and as you are servicing the calipers I would replace them, also flush through with new fluid if you dont know when that was last done as over time it does absorb moisture which degrades its operation
Gambit Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 !Removed! me nearly 40 views and nothing No thanks I don't know where you have been ;) I'd say copper too as it would mold if it need's to as you tighten up
Bouncer Posted August 31, 2013 Author Posted August 31, 2013 No thanks I don't know where you have been ;) I'm very clean :P Copper it is then....thought so
Jay762 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Dot 5.1 fluid will give better moisture absorption / operation parameters - using Shell stuff myself at the moment although Shell Dot 4 ULTRA has a higher boiling point than 5.1
