But was told the front I/c might have helped cause the h/g as the rads not getting the air passed it properly, and maybe a faulty stat didn't help either though....so it's coming off!...they look kind of good but so what, it's the first and last I'll have

The faulty stat is more likely as this will stop liquid flow completely leading to overheating - the FMIC isnt designed to restrict air flow but will do if the fins are damaged. Cars have stacked coolers for things like oil and air con as well as the rad, as long as the fins are ok the air flows through no problem

Ok, I kind of said that to him, not like that though, they cause turbo and throttle lag though and seemingly no good for low down grunt/torque....mine's coming off anyway

due to the extra amount of air volume in the intake system there can be a delay / lag as the turbo is effectively pressurising a larger amount - this can be compensated for but is also a good example of how you should approach your engine mods vs requirement - it isnt necessarily a case of bolt stuff on and go.

If low down torque is a requirement look at putting turbo on that will spool up quicker - you will loose at the top end but gain lower down

Stick to the TMIC its better, you only need FMIC for big power 400bhp + am running 360 on a STI TMIC . I agree with jay .
