Hi everyone,

Just booked in for a remap for my 2010 wrx-s. I’ve been told to increase from the standard 252 to 280 I need a custome map/ 340lph fuel pump and a sports cat.

Anyone had any experience with the hatch wrx engine for remaps? Is it possible to push it to 300bhp?

Thanks
Matt

custom map yes 100%, make sure if done on a dyno its road test after with det cans etc, should also take then at least an hour or more to map it.

As far as fuel pump yes it will need an upgrade, walbrough 255 is a common one but a decent brand 340 will be fine.

turbo wont do 300, if they claim it is i would say BS figures

Hi Tidgy,

Thanks, that is good to know! Sounds like 280 is the limit for the turbo then, I’ll also make sure that they get good branded parts.

They have a good rep in the area, so hopefully they aren’t fobbing me off!

Cheers

Yo dude. How did you get on with the remap and possible parts additions?

Results are in!
Details below:

Standard it ran on rolling road 259bhp, 285 lb/ft torque

I had then had fitted:
Sports cat (already had a cat back cobra system)
360 lph fuel pump
Cosworth panel filter

Then a remap and it ran:

269bhp and 330 lb/ft torque

After feeling a little disappointed, I bought a K&N induction kit and went back for a second map, this time it produced:

285bhp and 333 lb/fit torque

So it's well worth opting for a full induction kit over a panel filter, makes a good difference, but make sure you get a map when fitting as it will knock your fuelling out without the map.

The torque increase is immense, pulls great now in each gear.
