02 wrx 98kmiles..to map or not to map

Featured Replies

Hi guys. Newish to the scoob world. Had my bugeye now almost a year. Basically factory spec apart from a few prodrive pieces (exhaust & engine trim) always been a fan of keeping my cars original but have been considering a re map. Not interested in crazy engine power increases. 10 or 20 bhp increase and a few more mpg and il be happy enough 😂 heard a few horror stories about mapping gone wrong. Don't wana go down the road of having to replace parts here and there down the line due to a pointless re map. Any advice or thoughts would help alot!

Cheers

A map will see a healthy increase in bhp torque and better mpg (depending on your foot)
The only thing you'll really need is a new fuel pump,

obviously if you wanted to change any other parts, like airbox /removal of cat etc it would be better to do it prior to mapping and then get it done
