no sat nav or clock menu

Hi everyone, Posted this in introductions by mistake so here it is again.  just joined having just bought my first subaru.A 2005 forester. All seems well except I cant seem to access the sat nav or menus on the display, cant even get to the clock setting etc. Whenever i press the menu button I'm informed about the danger of using it whilst the vehicle is moving I agree and it simply returns to the display with the wrong time settings on it and repeat..is it me? .Any ideas anyone?
