Hi,

I have owned several Subarus but this is my 1st Forester........... He is a 2008 2.0XC with 95K called SCOOBYTWO by my daughter. I am delighted with the car :D   However on the Tesco run recently a Tesco lorry pulled out in front of me on a roundabout forcing me to stop  ....sadly the next car did not  ....ouch :o ......it was not a big impact but when I checked the car over later I noticed that the rear passenger side is 10mm lower than the right. As I said it was not a big bump and the bumper took all the force. Any ideas as to what may have happened.

Hi mate welcome to S.O.C

Please feel free to have a look around the forums and to join in on the threads. And do you like movies we have a fun movie quiz going looking for more people to join in :D

And sorry to hear about the bump hopefully be easy enough to repair. have you checked it's not the bumper that been knocked lower.?

Hi,

Thanks......I am still finding my way around the site.

I have measured the height from the ground and centre of the wheel to the top of the wheel arch which is not connected to the bumper and both came back with the 10mm difference. I have found something called strut sag when trolling for possible causes.

It goes in next week to get fixed so hopefully it is nothing too serious!!

Yep you have read right could be that I've also known the spring to snap making it drop. So definitely rear suspension issue or a flat tyre :D

Thanks............

My nickname at work is digger....the story for this is too long....but two people are serving time with HMP and it involves a stolen digger.........no more clues for what I do for a living...............my real name is Dave.

Is strut sag a common problem on foresters with self levelling rear suspension?

I have a friend like that :D I call him Dangerous Dave :D well it's my Missus sisters Boyfriend :) he's alright just terrible when he's had a drink ;)

As for the strut it's not uncommon with the self level. Like the old saying just another thing to go wrong. But I'm not sure how to fix it myself :( could be a few things from what I've heard from cracks to lose of pressure.

I was thinking about Only Fool's And Horses I love Trigger cracks me up

welcome aboard fella, feel free to have a look around and please enjoy your stay ;)
