Can I ask your advice gents?

My trusty XTrail is finally giving up the ghost after 16 years & 200k miles and I’ve decided to replace with a forester. I have £10k ish and there seem to be a range of petrol & diesels around.

Which would you recommend for reliability & longevity, I do about 12k miles a year.

an older one, newer models are not that long term durable .

I would go for the older models. Personally i think the newer diesels seem to have problems. However I may be biased, 2005 Forester XT owner.

I'd suggest a 2014 (and on) Forester (2014 after the last major facelift/uplift]  and petrol. I'm afraid I have no idea what price they go for. Good luck and might I say welcome !!
