Hi,

Has anyone with an OEM spare wheel tried fitting it on the front and does it fit?

My car didn't come with a spare wheel and I bought one from the internet (Subaru space saver) that was advertised it fits the XV.

Although it fits fine on the rear, it doesn't clear the caliper the front. I am wondering if the wheel I was supplied wasn't specifically for the XV but another Subaru model.

You shouldn't run a spacesaver on the front anyway. If you get a front puncture you should move a back tyre up to replace the burst one, deploying the SS to the rear. So there should be no need to put the SS on the front anyway.
