Rabmcl89 Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Ive just bought a 2009 legacy wagon boxer diesel and it has what looks like a non standard immobilizer key pad you have to type a code into everytime i want to start the car do they all have these and is there a way around it?
Greenmamba Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 If this keypad is inside the little flap covering the fuses it is probably standard Sigma or similar. Do you have remotes and if so do they work to unlock/lock the car? It certainly should not be necessary to key in codes every time. 1
Rabmcl89 Posted November 23, 2020 Author Posted November 23, 2020 Hey thanks for yhe reply, the car came with 1 key with 1 lock/unlock button on it but the button doesdnt work lol i need to lock and unlock the car manually.
Rabmcl89 Posted November 23, 2020 Author Posted November 23, 2020 The guy i bought it from said if i put a new Battery in the key it should work and it wound need the code to start anymore but not sure if i trust it.
Greenmamba Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 What have you got to lose by changing the Battery? Sounds like the remote is useless to you now, if I understand the situation at the moment.
Rabmcl89 Posted November 23, 2020 Author Posted November 23, 2020 Last night i opened the key to change the Battery but the new Battery was the wrong size so i put the old one back in and after that my code that i input into the immobiliser wouldnt work so after messing around for ages i opened ghe key and closed it again and the code started working again lol since that ive been hesitant to touch the Battery encase it stops working again.ideally id like to get yhe immobilizer removed.
