Hi all,

I am a new Member and hope you can help. Tried to remove ignition key last night but would not budge. Park light was showing and gear lever was as hard to the park setting as possible and steering lock not on. Solution this morning (battery or immobilser playing up) was to disconnect the battery. Key came out easily. Goes through gears no problem so my hunch is that a park switch/solenoid is dirty (or failed). Assuming it is just dirty; How do I get to it.

For more info. I am not a mechanic. I know there is a solenoid on top of the brake pedal but I assume this allows gear selection i.e get out of Park. I am looking for the electrics that control going into Park (maybe the same swith?). I am hoping that just using IPA once located will solve the problem??? Please help.
