Wife washed keys

Hi all. New to this. Just after some advice. My wife washed my key. Since then. I can only unlock the car with the key. But I have not been able to start the car. I have got the 4 digit code for immobiliser off Subaru. But it doesn’t work. So thinking it could of been changed. Would a new ecu and key set fix this issue. Thanks

i  know this sounds wierd, put it in a sealed bag of rice for a day or two. it works with phones, if that don't work then get a new key and program key to car. don't you have a spare key?

Dry it out as per above post, then switch out batteries and see what happens.

Hopefully that works.
