May 13, 20223 yr Hi guys! Help would be greatly appreciated here, am looking at a JDM STI hatch back for sale. Car is beautiful and loads of history from Japan and UK. Car has a really consistent tick at idle, I think it could be the lifters, I've been told by the dealer + past owner that the car has sat for about 3 months and prior to that was barely driven. Ive asked for an oil change to see if that helps with the noise as I think the oil may have degraded over time and hasn't been regularly pumped around! Does anyone have any advice/think it is anything different! Cheers Nick

May 19, 20223 yr Could be the lifters, maybe piston slap? Though not sure it's the latter though. If it was my money, I would be a bit hesitant or asking for a big discount.
