Having bought an elderly Outback recently, I found there were some outstanding recalls - very pleasantly surprised that dealers closest to me in the Midlands happliy booked it in in the next 10 days with a loaner while they replace various airbags, brake lines and fuel pump harness etc.   All under recalls issued ages ago and clearly not acted on by previous owner/s. 

I was pleased as it is an 18 year old  - was owned by the same person for some 14 years of that time and clearly well maintained for most of its life as it still looks good in and out.  

Nice to have the work done as I was aiming to have suspension work done later this year and underseal............

Sounds good, but beware of charges for other parts damaged during the works.

Almost forgot main dealers have to be watched, of course.......Although hard to prove in an elderly vehicle.   I don't want to ignore the recalls though.
