I'm in a pickle with my beloved 07 hawkeye sti I've got engine management light on for secondary air valves stuck subaru say parts and labour 900 quid I cannot afford will fail mot due soon cause of this dunno what to do sell car loose my shirt but can't afford to.fix

Theres not really a cheap fix assuming they are the problem. Moisture gets in and causes them to seize. You have two options,

1> get them replaced

2> get them removed and get the car remapped to run without.

 

Prices are prob similar to be done properly, map option will solve the problem long term. secondary air system is only used for about 30 seconds on cold start for emisions compliance.
