Subaru Select Monitor SSM2

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2002 JDM STI and would like to be able to run engine diagnostics. As I understand it my car is pre-OBD and would need a system that can talk SSM2. I've spoken to someone at Scoobyworld about the OBDlink MX+  and being OBD this won't work.

Does anyone know of any reader that would work? I've seen references to dongles that might allow for OBD readers to interpret SSM2 data but can't find any actual products. There's also lots of complicated sounding advice on making your own reader which looks to be beyond my computing skills... Just wondering what people do with pre-OBD cars do about diagnostics?

Any thoughts or help welcome!
