Tyre repairs

I never used to run on a tyre that had been repaired but was I worrying about nothing?  My wife’s XV has just had a tyre repaired on the three quarter tread and I’m wondering if I need to bother with a new tyre (or two, as I like to replace both on an axle).  Thoughts please ladies and gents?

Depends what the repair was: if it was just a patch for a puncture then I've run for 000's of  miles on repaired tyres with no issues.
