Battery for Gen6

Featured Replies

I am having trouble sourcing a new battery for my 2022 Outback, anybody replaced theirs yet?

Also found that the red positive terminal cover/boot on the battery is missing battery, any ideas for a replacement or a Subaru part number please?

Be careful. If it's  Gen5, the standard battery replacement comes up as Exide EL605 which has reverse terminal layout, meaning the positive terminal is located on the left, ie. the positive terminal is closer to the windscreen, and the terminals are on the left side of the battery as you look into the engine bay from the grill towards the windscreen. The Exide EL605 is a particularly wimpy battery, 60Ah 520CCA. Be careful not to get mixed up with Subaru of America where they do things differently. I'm not sure about Gen6 (which Subaru began selling in UK in summer 2021) you could still have a Gen5 (with a 2022 registered car).

Doh! I just noticed the heading is about Gen6 sorry.

I think the part number is 81611VC000. Although this is from a site in the States and is for a WRX, this seems to be the same on the battery cover on my Outback:
