Hi all

New to the Subaru world, saved a MY94 WRX from going to a scrappy 2 months ago. Have given it a full service and new brakes all round.

Next on the list are gauges to keep an eye on everything, a new spoiler and then look at going a bit quicker.

Is it safe to just up the boost on these? or should I get a remap ? If so I have been told that I will have to change my ECU to do so. Is this correct ?

Hi mate welcome to S.O.C

And what I like to see another one being saved more so with the classics. You can just up the boost but wouldn't do that myself but depends on mods and service I guess but wouldn't go up by to much. I have a manual boost controller fitted but disconnected for fear of laying about to much :D

And you have read right you would need to sort the ECU out before any maps could be flashed onto the car :(
