Youngoutbacker Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 On 2000 outback when its moving it makes a noise like something is hitting something else are there bushings bad or something or did i brake something
Tlag Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 It's very difficult to diagnose it from what you have said. It could easily be a bush somewhere. The ones that seem to go first are the drop links. However, that's just a guess. Can you narrow it down: front/back, which side, etc. there are numerous things it could be.
Youngoutbacker Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Front left (if sitting in car) so my drivers side nd it feels like it is right under the floor board. It seams like when i hit even a small bump it will make the noise.. (Sorry for bad description)
Gambit Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Is it when you turn the steering wheel it makes the knock or just over bumps ? :) But I would also check you Hub and bearing and brake caliper for a sticking pistone
Jay762 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 check your top mount on the suspension strut - a long shot but whilst you are poking around ;)
Youngoutbacker Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 I feel like it does when i turn the wheel but i know when it goes over bumps
Gambit Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 could be a few thing I would check all the above and around the joint's and rubbers check see if any have split and gone dry.
Tlag Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 If you can get to the joint where the steering column joins the rack, you will find a single bolt. Have a look to see if it's still tight. 1
