2005 blobeye, help needed

Featured Replies

Hi guys bought this 2005 cheap as a non runner due to the seller saying the engine was blown... Now the engine runs absolutely fine when cold but when it heated up and is revved past 4000rpm there is a slight knocking noise... I thought this was quite strange as usually knocking can be heard from startup.

I've had a look on YouTube and it could be the cambelt tensioner but could anyone give me some ideas please?

Thanks a lot

I would say you was right I think that is the 1st place I would look.

Bigends would be as soon as it starts and could sound like it a bit. Oh and welcome to S.O.C hopefully you have a bargain. Keep us updated on it.

One more thing have you check for any ECU codes ?

could be the crank, or the big end, does it get worse after you rev it ?

It only gets worse after about 5000 rpm... It's a weird one haha.

Bye guys there's a group on Facebook called subaru imprezas owners club or sioc, it's a great group, well worth having a look on

Yeah its a good forum enjoy. I know we have a few members that use it [emoji8]

Bit of a shame really we have a few members in the Leeds area getting a meet sorted for local members. And my apologies I was mistaking it for the other forum Subaru International Owners Club. I don't know much about the one you have said.
