  1. Sounds like a good offer! Where are you?
  2. The engine air intake is just behind the bonnet / grill gap, and the alternator is on top of the engine so assuming your spark leads are properly sealed from the water the car should be able to go in headlight deep! I'll let you know come winter how it went...
  3. I've had Apex coilovers on my BMW for the last 12 months and am very impressed with the quality. NO signs of corrosion on the bodies despite driving it through winter and not applying any grease or tape. A firmer ride than standard, but well damped and superb control when driving hard, though a little harsh if just pootling along...
  4. Design aircraft systems - currently working on a secondary power distribution system. Was previously researching fuel cells for airborne applications, and prior to that served 23 years in the RAF fixing planes!
  5. Skippy for my Outback. Bit of lateral thinking needed...
  6. Thanks gents, seems there's no ponies waiting to be free'd up for little outlay! Anyone used these guys: http://www.powerstation.org.uk/ ? Thought it would be good to get a rolling road session and see what its actually making before I started tweaking.
  7. Turbo? I dont have a turbo! (wish it did!)
  8. Cheers guys. I'd like more power as it's only 165 which as well as being down on the Beemer, is also a lot less than I'd expect a 2.5 to be capable of! Seems quite wallowy, but I don't know if that's normal as the shocks/springs are so long, or because they've done 92k and are goosed...
  9. Hi All, Bought my Outback on Saturday. 07 2.5SE in grey with cream leather. Nice motor, but it's replacing a BMW 528i touring so I have 'come down' a notch on the luxury side of things. I'll miss the rain sense wipers and self-dim rear mirror, along with the split tailgate and sat nav, but hopefully the Outback will prove a better bet for the floods and crappy roads during the winter - I live down a lumpy lane with a few tricky hills between me and civilization. Outbacks seem to be a bit thin on the ground in the UK, so info is a little scarce but I'd like to upgrade the car with the genuine sat nav system. Any pointers? Cheers! Dave
  10. Here's mine - bought it Saturday:
