Hi mate welcome to S.O.C Not sure what the smell might have been I've not had the please to test drive one but if I was going to get one either white or the darker grey colour would be my two choices. We have a fair few people with the newer STi so hopefully one will belong to give any advice. @Sparky has a nice build thread going. I've never looked at importing one to be honest only looked at whats already here but liked to get one at some point. I've noticed the impreza has krept back up on the price market again which is good

True but I do like the idea of Uk spec cars. And it's always been the case really import cars always seem to be better deal. I think my next I might even look down the import route
