  1. sorry meant to have a look at mine and reply. Like adam never done it I think it's painted over the bolts too from memory. Or it's just the same colour and can be undone I would check that 1st.
  2. Not sure But it's grabbed my attention ;) So I will look at it some more, I'm guessing it's the way they make the Auto trans to work it doesn't need the oil changes. But still think a change would never hurt but is that me being sceptical. And not being so use to maintaining the oil changes :D
  3. So what have we done so far Checked for Pipes lose split cracked ? MAFS Done 02 sensor Done Idle control valve ? Plugs changed ? Coil packs looked at ? Just trying to get an idea so don't go over old things twice :)
  4. No worries mate. Might send it in the post with some nude pictures instead with me sniffing underwear ;) Nice tip that mate I've not seen that one. See I'm still learning too ;)
  5. I've had a look in the manual myself. It does say for the life of the car. And by the look's of it most new auto is now the life. I wonder if they have some sort of silicone based oil they use now that keeps it fresh for Auto trans
  6. Haha I don't blame you I hate the winter. unless it snows but then I want it to be sunny after I've had a play around in it :D Share some pictures of the Alfa too if you like mate. Seem to have a few of them on here at the minute. :D
  7. I was going to say should be for life so I wouldn't worry about it but as Jonny said if you feel the need won't harm it either :)
  8. Yeah just like an oil change really. I might have a manual some where showing how it's done if you remind me :D
  9. Nice one mate happy to hear it's sorted. So what you fixing next on her or doing up :D
  10. No problem. Don't get me wrong I enjoy a bit of a spirited drive who doesn't, and love giving it a thrash in the snow too :D I just try make sure I keep on top of the oil change let it warm up and cool down. And it's been fine, so wont change what I do now :D
  11. I think should be the same. If it has the anti roll feature that might need turning off but other than that it looks the same as any other really. But I've never changed one either, so hopefully someone whos done it might be better to advise :)
  12. I think be a shame to sell up but at the end of the day it's up to you if you feel you have had enough :( Another reason I think you should stay means I'd have to get another Regional Coordinator :D and I think you could easily make your area a good meet up with Martins garage and some more members we have had 3 more from sheffield sign up last 2 weeks. :D And I 2nd matts comment on the interior it reminds me of the old shape BMW. :)
  13. Hi mate welcome to S.O.C We always like pictures on here so sooner the better :D And if it's been looked after I'm sure you could get it past the 200k mark. And please feel free to have a look around the forums and join in where ever you can great bunch on here if I do say so myself :D
  14. Did you read the Auto Magazine post. They said it's stylish ???? I just hope they've gone with the WRX being a bit more for the wider market while making the STI more for the petrol headed car enthusiasts of us Subaru Impreza owners. And while I'm moaning I hate that shark fin on the car too :D
  15. Mr. Takatsu, "Project General Manager" of the new WRX that was unveiled at the LA Auto Show on November 21, 2013, provides his insight to development and talks about the fun of driving the WRX. http://youtu.be/91Baq6vLcO8 Still think it's ugly
  16. If you send me an email via PM if you like or on here but it's public viewing so will leave you the choice I will email it. I keep meaning to get onto Steve the admin I've given him loads to sort out and not heard anything :(
  17. Only 2 fozzie manuals I have is for 2001 and 2004 you are welcome to have them if they are any good. Come in rar files with PDF files inside covering sections.
  18. As I'm sure you have read through, for me as I put before I would say it's fine. And you have made a good valid point with the cornering. You will find with Subaru's there is grey area's where nobody on any forum can come up with a true reason or answer to a question. I've seen this and Oil arguments many times before with the same outcome :D I've not done what Jonny b does with my wheels ever and have only ever changed tyres when needed for the legal limit, and since the engine rebuild has been fine for over 70kmiles. But I always say look after your car as you see fit so wouldn't say he's doing anything wrong and at the end of the day it's his bill's he pays not me. :) But other than the limit is all I worry about :D
  19. The Subaru WRX returns, but this time with a more upmarket feel VerdictThe Subaru WRX moves the game on from the old car – it’s more luxurious, better looking and more practical than before. It’s still a niche choice, but the WRX faithful will love the firm, grippy chassis and unique engine. The bonus is that it’s more sophisticated to drive, which should help broaden its appeal and justify its place in UK showrooms. In December 2012, Subaru stopped selling the WRX in the UK. The strong Japanese yen had inflated prices, while the thirsty 2.5-litre engine and dated interior did the car no favours. But now there’s an all-new WRX, which hits dealers in the US in April, with sales in the UK likely thanks to improved economic conditions. So what has the new car got in store? • Subaru WRX at LA Motor Show The WRX only comes as a four-door saloon – the bodystyle favoured by buyers in the major markets of North America and Australia. In a further concession to these regions, the car comes with the option of a CVT gearbox, although the new six-speed manual is the better choice. We tried both gearboxes on roads that could double as rally stages – the environment the previous WRX was bred for. The CVT has eight pre-selected ratios you can flick between using the steering wheel-mounted paddles, but the auto gearbox can’t come close to the slick shifts of the six-speed. The manual allows you to make more of the 2.0-litre direct-injected flat-four turbo, first seen in the UK with the new Forester. This engine still has a characterful warble under acceleration. It’s not as raucous as the old engine, but is a lot more vocal than the 2.0-litre turbo in the car’s obvious rival – the new Audi S3 saloon. The Subaru’s meaty power delivery is complemented by a more advanced chassis. The four-wheel drive provides plenty of reassuring grip – some of our test route included ice-covered corners, but the WRX took these in its stride. New for this model is a torque vectoring system, which increases the feeling of agility – the car responds quickly to inputs from the new smaller steering wheel. Adjustable dampers aren’t available, and the set-up is on the firm side. Hardcore Subaru fans might put up with the brittle ride – as it gives handling on a par with our current hot hatch favourite, the two-wheel-drive Ford Focus ST – although the average driver could be put off. The new WRX still has a bland interior, but it feels classier than before. The styling isn’t exactly handsome, yet it’s better than its brutish predecessor’s. It’s more practical, too, with six per cent more boot space, at 340 litres. The new WRX is still a niche choice. But it does have a broader appeal than before, and it would be a shame if its UK fans didn't get the chance to buy one here, especially if Subaru brings over the hotter STi next year.
  20. Sorry I thought you would have had some feedback about the cars by now we do have Legacy owners. And some very good Mechanics that do repairs with them, I can only guess they don't really use the New members section often to answer any questions. I will PM Adam for you see if he can help give any advice. :)
  21. Cheers Tim useful info as always :)
  22. I think the really thick stuff can I believe but I'm sure Oilman would be able to let you know for sure. :)
  23. Hi mate welcome to S.O.C I've always found Bridgestones pretty good but I don't think anyone beats Continental for all round use. I've just bought two new Falken to try, but had Hankook that have been great. Look forward to seeing the pictures :D
