The car was actually being sold by a private seller for £2500. The garage have claimed they have done £1000 worth of work hence the price. They’ve also had the car for sale for over 7 months. But they would take £3000 for it. I wouldn’t mind but the mileage as you said is high. It’s not a top spec and would still need a lot of money spent on it. There is another for around £3500 with 96k on.

I can’t seem to find any around my budget. Not locally anyway. I don’t really want to travel for hours and hours and find out the car is no good.

The dealer has sent me some pictures of the stamp book. It seems to be an okay car. They have said they will MOT it and a Full Service.

I will have to keep an eye out for any that are for sale. A members one would be ideal.

I think I will go and have a look as the car is not too far for me. I think finding a decent one in my price range is hard.

Thanks. The MOT History isn’t the best. I’ve asked the dealer for some more information on the car. What works it had done etc. I will wait and see if they respond. Anything on the MOT History that’s a worry?

Thanks for the information. It’s quite interesting about the shocks and springs. I will ask them if they have ever been changed and if there is paperwork to substantiate the work being carried out. I will also ask about the rust and the brake pads and discs. I’m okay with the VED, it’s an old car so the emissions will be quite high. Overall do you think it’s a good car in terms of the age and condition? Also whether the price advertised is fair? Is there a Subaru specialist around the North West?

I’m looking to buy my first Subaru. I’ve found one local it’s a XTE model with 1 owner, FSH with receipts and paperwork. Can anyone give me any advice on them and if they think it’s a good buy with the very high mileage? The only concern is that it only has MOT History for the last 2 years online. I assume it could be an import? I am also looking for a specialist in and around Liverpool. Thank you.
