  1. FIXED - For anyone else that has similar audio issues it was wiring and amp related. The amp in the original head unit was dead and the wiring to the ns was damaged. Couldn't get the replacement oem hu to work due to needing coding at a dealership. Re-wired the ns straight from the hu to speakers and now have an aftermarket hu all working.
  2. Wanting to improve the looks of my recently acquired legacy spec b. Particularly interested in getting a lip and/or front bumper similar to the jdm or facelift one although I've read there could be fitment issues. What would fit without too much hassle and what have people done to their pre-facelifts to improve looks?
  3. It has a viscous centre diff as standard and open front rear. All tyres are similar tread and are the same (pilot 4s) breaks aren't the issue although I'm definitely going to upgrade those in the future (got my eye on some brembos). Oil levels seem good as well. After a bit more research it is looking like centre diff is the culprit, namely the viscous coupling. Will strip it down and inspect and replace the coupling and any bearings and seals that need doing when I have time. Does anyone have recommendations for where to get the bits I need that won't cost an arm or leg?
  4. I have a recently acquired a spec b 3.0 2006 pre facelift. When more than 180° of steering lock is used e.g. very tight corners or when parking at slow speeds, the front wheels shudder and skip as if it had a locked diff. I know it's a viscous centre diff and they should lock when traction is lost but I wouldn't think it would be this unforgiving and jolting in a standard road car especially when the front diff is open. Also there is a bit of whine from the transmission that I assume is related. I'm thinking it could be the coupling but I'm unsure and need help or should I not be worried?
  5. For the life of me I can't seem to get any sound from my speakers. (2006 Legacy Spec B) have tried 2 factory head units and 2 different aftermarkets. Previous owner had said that the audio cut out a few times but always returned... hasn't worked since ive had it. Thought it may have been the amp in the original unit so tried a working spare... no luck. Only sound I can ever get is a slight pop from left speakers when plugging in the cheaper aftermarket. Otherwise no sound at all. Don't worry I usually disconnect the battery beforehand but forgot to do it once. Tested the resistance of all 4 speakers (all ~4ohms) from the 14pin harness. So all good there. Checked fuse 24 (audio) and that is good. I have no idea what to check next, any help would be appreciated.
  6. Found a solution? I also need to get a code for my GX201 as the amp in my old unit has died and I can't find a way to even try entering a code. Any help is welcome
