  1. Hi guys, Subaru impreza sti 2006 I have diagnosed my car and 'Camshaft position sensor' has come up as faulty. I have tried googling and youtubing the location of the sensor but seem to be struggling as it isn't in the same location as the videos. Anyone have any pics or info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  2. Have you got a pic of it yet mate?
  3. Couple more pics, thought i had more :/
  4. It all seperates mate, while i was there i fitted some new mesh as the old one was a bit knackered, left it de-badged as you don't often see them like that
  5. It was the motor, had a new one delivered for 40 quid and fitted it 2 hours later, not the most difficult job In the world just a bit fiddly
  6. Something like this? If thats what your after, all i did was take apart the grille and sand down the inner lip then paint it red.. simple but effective
  7. It seemed to be a bit of a intermittent fault over the past few weeks, some days it would work fine and other days you could press the buton and 5 seconds later then it works, borrowing a volt meter tomorrow just to see how much power is going to the motor
  8. Hi guys, problem with my drivers side window, it wont go up or down, tried changing switches with my friends scooby, (all the other windows worked apart from the drivers side) narrowed it down to the motor being at fault. So my question is has anyone changed their motor/regulator and is there any hints and tricks you have?
  9. Going well, got her back a few weeks ago, was the head gasket. 1500 quid later and job was a gooden :) cheers ill check it out
  10. Right guys im after a front mount for my hawkeye sti, been looking around on the internet but can only seem to find cheap copys, and the rest are from the US, Scoobyworld only seem to have them for classics, so if anyone else knows any decent websites let me know, cheers.
  11. A place called JD performace, been recommended by a few people ive met up here, as ive just moved to derby sort of area.. but just the was he was talking, you get the impression that he genuinely wants to help. Its one of those things that happen unfortunately.
  12. Haha well unfortunately im not a mad man and it does have a problem, just been to the garage (scooby specialist) and hes diagnosed it straight away as H/G. The reasons for sludgey kind of stuff in the expansion tank is due to the carbons entering the cooling system from a small crack in the H/G, and the reason it overheats after about an hour is because the engine has warmed up soo much that it lets the gases escape into the coolant. I'm going to be dropping it off at the garage monday so they can begin work on it. He's quoted me between 800-1600 depending if I've cracked the head or warped it. Its a fair bit of money but not the end of the world. So while the engines out I'm going to get some new belts, light weight wheels and my manifold put on as its easier when its on out, so sort of worked out in my favour lol.
  13. Yeah thats why im concerned it could still be the H/G... nah no over heating at all.. they took it on a few test drives and left it running and still no overheating. .. now i just look like a mad man making it up.. well hopefully the guys tomorrow will be able to find the problem straight away.
  14. Right guys, just a little update, my car has been in the garage for 2 days now. Apparently they done a 'sniff test' on it and came back negative, and because my car wasnt overheating at all they cant seem to find the problem. So went back to get my car as they seemed clueless, and the total charge was £10.00.... now im beginning to think if they ever done the test as surely its costs more than that? Anyways, im going to give the guys at jd performance near derby a ring in the morning and see how soon they can have a look. Will update when i know a bit more..
  15. Well I've drained and changed the coolant about 3 times and don't think its air locked, yeah checked the thermostat and that seemed to open and close when put in boiling water and cooled down again, the oil doesn't have any head gasket symptoms, but the coolant always to come out as a rusty looking colour, before i diagnose it with the head gasket gone, i may try changing the radiator as its only about 80 quid to replace
  16. Right guys, recently had a problem where my hawkeye impreza keeps over heating, it seems to always be about an hour into my journey (about 80-90 mph) on the motorway, the temp just suddenly sky rockets up. I drained my coolant and used some coolant flush to clear the system then filled back up with coolant, that didnt work. Changed my thermostat and drained the system and refilled with some more coolant. Still not solved the issue, once i parked up, let the engine cool down, i checked the water level and there seemed to be alot less in the main system but way too much in the expansion tank, plus residue where it looks like its over filled, if anyone has any ideas on what may be causing feel free to comment as im pretty stuck for ideas what to do next..
  17. Pribably seen about 100 over the weekend.. whos here then?
  18. I took apart my front grilles today to add a little bit of red to brighten it up and de-badge. Was pretty simple taking it all apart and preparing it for paint, the only bit that slowed me down was the cutting out of the new mesh so it would sit with out any imperfections. While I was fiddling around with that I finally got round to centralising my hella horns, all it needed was a little hammer to move a little bracket out the way and now they fit perfectly.

  20. I have a rather basic video on my Instagram if you want to check it out, it literally just goes up and down lol, I will try and get my mate to take a few pics as my phone isnt up to scratch lol
  21. To be honest I find it alot better than the coilovers I had on before, if you raise it all the way up the ride is terrible, really stiff but you would never drive it like that lol
  22. Right guys air suspension is now complete, took a while longer than expected but these things happen. Check out my project thread for the pics :)
  23. Right so, ive been thinking about air suspension for a while, so I took the plunge and finally decided to go through with it, after being seperated from my car for a whole 7 days I eventually got it back this evening, ive had a few hours of setting up different ride heights and took a few snaps, im very happy with it at the moment, but new wheels and a bit more stance is definately next.. here the photos I took earlier.
  24. Yeah I can ask him to do that, shouldn't be a problem, still waiting for the parts to arrive from america, just playing the waiting game atm.
  25. Just a quick update if anyone was interested. Been a bit busy away with work but have been speaking with the garage, and now have arranged price and how I want it fitted in the boot, so now hes happy ive given him the deposit, the parts are on order and now just have to wait for them to arrive so I can drop my car off and wait a few days whilst its being fitted, will update when I know exact dates but shouldn't be too long.
