  1. 1. Local garage should be fine. 2. I think that depends on the local climate... but 0W30 seems unnecessary thin/expensive https://aradbranding.com/en/engine-oil-viscosity-chart-at-different-temperatures/ 3. That concern is mostly for the gasoline engines, not the diesel ones. But its a subaru.... so who knows! 4. Michelin CrossClimate2
  2. dealt with the same set of issues last summer; luckily though they were able to remove all the glowplugs, albeit it was not easy and took them few cans of carbon-deposit-removal spray and patience. the guy told me that with diesel subarus its highly recommended to replace the plugs each ~100,000 - 120,000km tops, as they become almost impossible to remove as the mileage grows. too much sticky carbon deposit builds up on the inside, and the plugs are very thin/fragile so if you just force it, they break.
  3. I had exactly the same issue. The parking brake is unrelated. But yes, you have to replace the glow plugs, that is most likely the rootcause. My local mechanic explained to me that, as they age (when over 100,000km), their internal resistance reduces, hence they would gradually be drawing higher current, which would trip the glow-plug-fuse. Got all 4 plugs replaced, new fuse, and no problems 20,000km since
