  4. I have a 2023 Outback. In January I will be acting as support to a cycling team doing a relay, 24 hour event. It's a circular route meaning I will be static. I am working out the logisitics for providing shelter and hot food for the 2 participants who are resting at any given time. One option is to put the back seats in the Outback down and have a bed they can use to rest/sleep. However I am concerned about the impact on the battery of having the tailgate open all the time or it being opened and closed over a 24 hour period. Hot food will be via a gas stove and flasks so no impact on the car. Any thoughts or comments?
  5. I am posting this here because I assume it may be an issue (if indeed it is an issue) across models. I took ownership of a 2023 Outback Touring with 20k miles. So far it has been great however I am struggling with the self cancelling indicators. They don't cancel for anything less than a full 90 degree turn. For example coming off a medium/large roundabout indication left I would expect the turn to be cancelled but it is not happening. I also find the click on the indicator stalk to be very soft so it's difficult to feel the point at which it engages. As a result if I want to lane change I find I have put the indicator fully on meaning that I have to self cancel (the turn is 5 degrees or less). In my previous cars there is a much more definite click on a full turn and it would cancel after a much less tight turn. Is this a know issue or just a case of adapting?
  6. I have just bought a 2023 Outback. Done a few hundred miles and loving it. I didn't realise that the roof rails swing through 90 degrees and become cross bars. So now I am looking at my best option for fixing bikes to the roof. I have Thule aero bars and bike carriers which are great. To use these on the Outback I would have to swap the feet on the end of the bars and then attach them to the Outback roof rails. The feet are about £120 and I might get £30 for my old feet. Alternatively I could use the roof rails in the cross bar position if I could adapt the bike carriers to fit a cross bar without the slot the aero bars have. Thule do make adapters - https://www.thule.com/-/s/approved/std.lang.all/16/19/511619.pdf?rev=1.5 and this would be a cheaper and more convenient option. Does anyone know if these fit the Outback rails/bars?
  7. Given that this sub-forum is very quiet I may not get a great range of opinions however I'll try. I am looking at a 2021 Levorg as a replacement to our ageing CRV. We don't need the space or the step up/fall out convenience of an SUV. I've never owned a Subaru before but understand that they are competing with Toyota/Honda in terms of reliability. Our CRV has been superb and has been or cheapest motoring ever. However I don't like how it drives - far too soft and rolling. Our 2nd car is a Seat Leon FR which has a form, sport ride. This replaced a TTS Mk3 which was a retirement indulgence and an absolute hoot to drive. It was never intended to be a long term keeper. Normally we keep our cars until the die - the CRV is 11 years old and 140k miles. So replacement is not far away. What are they thoughst on the Levorg - driving, reliability, comfort etc? I'd welcome opinions before I go and look at the car I have seen online.
