  1. The Facebook link to the event says 21st Feb...
  2. On a Saturday eh. I'll probably be up for that :)
  3. Heylo, well I finally pick my Subaru up on Monday! It's been sat for 3 years in a barn pretty much. But well looked after whilst being in there. It's got a full service history... a CRAZY full service history from the day it was bought in 1998 (I'll post pictures when I collect it). I'm going to keep up with the same Service OCD that the owner had, but I'm just wondering what decent MOT centres are around Blackpool? Motorsport Developments are Subaru Specialists and seem to be the only one in my area... anybody heard anything about them? I think it's best to get a full service straight away, since it's been sat? Thanks in Advance, Chris
  4. Ah OK. As long as it doesn't make the car any worse by not getting it mapped after adding both filter and exhaust. I'll probably get it mapped after I get my NCB Bonus back again, so that I can afford the Insurance as I assume it would be classed as an Engine Mod. (Was driving other cars on different insurances, so lost 9 years NCB :( ) Thanks Stants
  5. Hey, I'll be getting a panel filter and back box for my 1998 Subaru Impreza Turbo. Will I need to get it mapped? Or will it still run fine without? What are the gains, if any, of getting it mapped at the same time? Thanks in Advance, Chris
  6. Huh? I'm completely ignorant then... what's the difference between the hatchback / estate / wagon?
  7. Wagon then :P How come you sold it?
  8. This must be the white classic you were on about :) Never usually like estate cars, but always had a soft spot for the Subaru ones. What front splitter is that by the way. Chris
  9. Welcome to the site. This is a helpful guide to read over http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/1619-help-check-guide-buying-1st-subaru/
  10. n/a basically means that your car is Naturally Aspirated as opposed to turbo or supercharged.
  11. Well, I've put a £750 deposit down on it! It's pretty much immaculate except a bit of bubbling on the right rear arch (i know someone who can sort it professionally) Apart from that, it's basically showroom! Drives perfectly, no knocking or weird noises. The interior is spotless. Serviced every 6 months since new from the original garage within 12 days every time. 75,000 miles on it. It's standard bar some Speedline alloys but he's throwing in the standard alloys for free! He's getting it fully MOT'd for me too.
  12. Sweet, so it's the facelift with the new interior too :)
  13. That's the interior, so I'm not sure? I'll take more tomorrow.
  14. I'm writing down all the help and questions people have offered on here, so I'm going to make sure to ask him everything. I've messaged him asking him not to start the car because we want to check it over when cold. The person I'm going with knows a fair bit about cars too. I'll keep you lot updated tomorrow! Then I shall start a "Project" thread!
  15. Yeah I'll check that on Saturday :) The Subaru I'm going to see has full service history from a Subaru Agent, including the purchase invoice from when and where they bought it (he's been the only owner). It's done 75k miles as it's been in storage for two years... And it's had new tyres put on that have less than 100 miles on it. He's also going to get it MOT'd before I get it :)
  16. I'm going to look and probably put a deposit down on a 1998 Classic on Saturday. What colour blue is this though? (I blocked out the plates btw, not him)
  17. Yeah, I was getting a bit eager. I think I'll wait to have the hard cash in my hand I think. I'm looking at 2,500 - 3,000 max... I want something standard (body mods are OK, as long as they're not chavvy)
  18. Doesn't matter, it's been sold now. And I'm wary of the white one due to the comments here. Plus I realised how tatty the inside looked. I'm just going to wait until I've got the cash and wait for something better to come along :(
  19. Think I'm going to go with the blue Terzo as they're rare, it's just had a full service and cambelt change. Plus this way, I can turn it into a bit of a project :)
  20. Oh okay, I wasn't aware of that... Now I feel even more thick than before :) Nice Estate / Wagon btw.
  21. Just got a reply from the garage. Dear chrisrvalentine88, Hi Chris, You have to understand with these cars that it is very rare to get service history especially with the Jap import ones. I have no idea when it was modified. Regarding re map car runs 100% and if it had not been re mapped, it wouldn't. No idea of last service but we will do that and change the cam belt if we can not find evidence of when it was done. Regarding your other questions, we would not sell a car unless it was 100% right. Can not guarantee miles but generally the Jap imports have less miles than UK because the Japanese cover a lot less annual mileage compared to uk drivers. We have been selling and working on Subarus for many years, and do know what they are about. Incidentally, the Cataluña in black would be cheaper to insure because it is a UK car Regards Roger - tbm-int Reply in your email program or through My Messages From: chrisrvalentine88 To: tbm-int Subject: Re: chrisrvalentine88 has sent a question about item #221610551211, ending on 29-Nov-14 18:11:05 GMT - SUBARU IMPREZA TURBO JDM Sent date: 21-Nov-14 16:24:58 GMT Dear tbm-int, Hi, I've had some time to think, so I have some more questions about it. Has the car been mapped since it's had the engine mods? How long has it had the engine mods when / if it hasn't been mapped? Does it have full service history (any service history / what intervals)? When was the last service? Do you have all the documents and receipts for the parts and labour. When was the oil, filter and cam-belt last changed? Any piston slap when it's cold? No knocking? No fluctuating idle? Any clutch judder when it's cold? Does the exhaust still has the CAT for MOT? If I decide to go ahead and ask you to replace the parts for standard, are they genuine Subaru parts? Is it 105,000 genuine miles? As the seats and steering wheel looks very worn. Is there plenty of thread left on the tyres? As it's an import, do you have a picture of the underneath of the car as it probably isn't undersealed? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to know 100% what I'm buying. ThankYou again. If I could leave positive feedback for just the replies and customer service, I would. Chris,
