I am looking at a 2005 Forester 2.0 XT In great condion , but all gears work except for 5th , this happened after a new clutch was fitted I'm getting the car very cheap but I could do with some guidance on the manual box and what may be the problem . Thanks

I have read a post ( usa) that mentioned the Manual transmission on the 2.5 AT is weak and not suitable for the 2.5 turbo , any thoughts please , as I'm in the Market for one

More good news timming belt done 18 months ago at Sub dealer invoices for all work done

Up date ， service book has seven main dealer stamps ， the rest are from a independent garage . No know head gasket problems ?

Good point ， I am about half an hour from a Sub dealer so if I purchase I will leave it in there for t/belt and all fluids etc.

Yes tailgate and 2.5 none turbo， I thought they sorted the gasket problem on these?????

Going to look at a 2006 Outback ， sold as seen from a dealer 1600 euros Looks clean ， leather auto sunroof ect 116.000 miles on the clock. Bad points ， rear door lock not working Slight damage to front wing and headlamp unit ， pumped not cracked ，should be a body shop job . I was told it drives fine no problems . What should I look for as it has no test?

A heat gun should mould the plastic ?

I came across a cheap 2000 model 2.0 turbo s, with 235000 miles on the clock but well looked after. Their is a lot of them out there so ill take my time

Thinking oF getting a Forester ive had two Legacies 2.5 both with heating probs so 2.5 is OUT Are they reliable ?

I will get a second opinion, it look likes water getting in behind the mirror plastic , wierd a pain.

The two front doors on my 99 legacy have bubbled up in the same place under the mirrors, has anyone had this problem. Body shop says cut out and weld in new metal, that seems a bit extreme. Can you recommend good rust proofing, for behind the door panel's.

The scubby I bought had the front sunroof sealed (badly) I will remove the old stuff and have a look. Can you get new seals from Subaru
