  1. Hi all, My 2003 2.0 has developed a strange noise. It is a sort of buzzing noise that seems to come from the steering column. It is intermittent, lasts for only a few seconds at a time then stops. Sound a bit like a relay of some type....? Has anyone had similar noises and has anyone got any suggestions as to what it might be? Thanks, Chris
  2. Hi all, My 2003 Foerester suffers from wind noise around the "gaiter" sealing the window near the door mirror. It would seem that the rubber has distorted over time. Pressing the rubber against the glass cures it, but I obviously can't keep my hand there all the time! Does anyone know where I can get replacement parts at sensible prices for this or better still, any way repair the ones that are fitted? Thanks, Chris
  3. Thanks for the advice. Will do....
  4. Many thanks. Will order these and try them...
  5. Thanks again, Mr B. I don't really want the firmer ride of poly bushes, but may have no choice! As for OEM type, I've looked at the ADL Blue print site and they don't list the front wishbone rear bush. To register with SolidAce you seem to need to be a business rather than an individual. Do you know if they supply to individuals? There seems to be a real gap for these bushes in the market. Several distributors I've looked at list them for the first generation forester and for the third generation, but NOT for the second generation that I have. I guess because they are gel filled rather than solid rubber, most manufacturers don't want to know.... From all I've found so far, Subaru themselves don't even supply just the bushes (even in the mounting) or if they do they are VERY expensive. Are the bushes interchangable with any other model of Subaru?
  6. Thanks to Mr B for previous advice. I now need some more advice if possible. I am looking to replace suspension bushes, in particular the rear inner control arm bushes on my 2003 Forester SG 2.0. Can anyone advise re: pros and cons of OEM rubber bushes vs polyurethane and, if poly are the better option, any experience between whiteline/superpro/other brands? I know some brands of poly bushes can stick causing jerky and difficult movement of the wishbone and I don't want to cause more problems than I solve!
  7. Hi all, I have a 2003 Forester 2.0 SG I need to replace the rear, inner front control arm bushes on both sides and at least one of the drop links too. (one side can move by hand, the other is unmovable which is correct? Is it best to replace oth anyway?) Whilst doing this I think I might do the sway bar bushes and front inner control arm bushes at the same time so I know it is all ok (and perhaps the ball joint too). Might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb... My problem is finding the correct torque settings for reassembly. Can anybody help please?
  8. Hi all, I'm the owner of a 2003 forester SG based in Leicester UK.
