  1. Looks alright that, needs the wider arches of a GTA as I feel a normal 147 looks meh without them now
  2. Do you have any photos of this as I need an exhaust ASAP!
  3. I know of at least one 1.6 running around with the GTA body kit fitted, shame the arches ain't flared on the TS. I'm looking at 285bhp and 270ftlbs, which is a nice rise from standard :) Is a shame, mine has not broken down once. Saying that, after all the Alfa's I've owned, only broken down once!! Gabbinano blue on 156GTA is mighty rare too. That looks lovely! Yeah they tend to do that the wipers, early signs that the linkage is !Removed!! Your issue sounds like that a previous owner had ran it very low on oil, by the time you got it the damage had already been done sadly.
  4. Mods, I did ask if I can post up a build thread of this car but if this is in the wrong place, feel free to move it. So here is my baby, an Alfa Romeo 147 GTA which I've owned since September 8th, 2011. Here's a back story about this car and a brief history of some of the cars I've owned up until now :) My 1st car was an Alfa Romeo 147 1.6TS, I owned this for 3 and a half years until it was sadly stolen one night, I was given a Corsa B which I used for a month before I hated driving, so tracked down Alfa No2! This ended up being an Alfa Romeo 145 Cloverleaf, I loved this loads, was modded quite a bit but it sadly died from rust.....it was then that I bought my GTA which has been 'fettled' quite a bit but more on that later. For a 2nd car I bought a MK1 MX5 which was boosted quite a bit, was running 300bhp give or take and was a total riot to drive, great fun to drive and surprised quite a few people by looking standard but a little different as well. I sold that as I thought something more sensible might make sense, so bought a Fiat Cinq Sporting which had a Fiat Punto engine dropped in with a turbo slapped on for good measure, this was equally fun and rather quick and I enjoyed surprising many a people over and over again but this also died from rust. I then bought an Alfa Romeo 155 which was okay, nothing special, did what it needed to and got a few looks at the same time. I also own an Alfa Romeo 75 and an Alfa Romeo 33, both of which are sitting in the lockup as I don't have time to drive them. That's the recap done so this brings us back to the GTA. I've owned this 3yrs in September, in that time I've done various bits and bobs to it. This is what she looked like when I 1st got her, only mod being a different exhaust which I was going to buy myself anyway which was a bonus. This is where she is now, I won't bore everyone with all the small details of things that I did do and various specs she was in except the spec of her now :) She's in at the specialist now having loads of work done, including a full front end respray, when she comes back she will be more a less done, spec is as below. Quaife diff. ACT carbon fibre plenum. Ferrari 430 throttle body. BMC CDA. KW V3s. Eibach ARBs front and rear. Brembo discs all round with Brembo HP2000 pads mated to 330mm 4 pots up front. Wizard catback Wizard 100 racing cat and small silencer. Wizard cat-less manifolds. Bracing up front and at the rear. 18" alloys just so I can fit Pilot Super Sports in 225/40 size. And a small sound clip of how she sounds. I've also got this done which I'll fit when she's back, tempted to do something similar for the Wagon as well tbh... Hope you guys like, all comments welcome and if people want to see my other cars, feel free to ask and I'll post them up.
  5. I'll start from the beginning me thinks. I had a friend who owned this Wagon which I quite liked, I attended a few Subaru meets with him but we both became a bit busy so that stopped, fast forward to a few weeks ago where I realised I needed an estate for work, put something up on Facebook and he messaged me saying that his misses is expecting their 2nd child so wanted a wagon with ISOfix and needed his current one gone. I knew he had looked after it so offered £400 and he said yes which did confuse me some what tbh So picked it up on 3rd May and slowly been sorting out various issues, nothing big but they need attention. Following things below: I need a new exhaust which is actually proving harder to find than I thought as my current one is rather !Removed!, it's already rotted in various locations which is shocking for less than 3yrs old! The interior which is actually spotless for such a high mileage car but was shiny shiny on the plastics, so spent a day cleaning the interior and protecting it all, looks much better if I may say so. The bonnet wouldn't open, finally got it open so replaced the catch with a cheap eBay sourced item. Now works a treat!! My plans? I'm going to fit some 16" alloys, I want them gold as well it's what I know! The alloys are I think from the WRX model with 5 spokes, looks nice to me. I'm also going to detail the car, I do detailing as my 2nd job so will machine it, I'm going to de-badge the rear and stick on my PH sticker. Apart from that I'll leave it how she is. If anyone has a cat back from a classic Wagon going, let me know as I'll snap it up!
  6. Awesome! I'll do the scoob 1st then :)
  7. Wow I love this wagon, I've always had a soft spot for the classic Impreza Wagon from the days of GranTurismo 2. When you do maybe come to sell then I certainly would be interested in this beast :D
  8. May I do a build thread for my GTA as well as the Impreza on here? It's a little different to the average car and generally interested in what you guys and gals on here think of it and can see the kind of attention to detail that'll I'll show my Impreza :)
  9. It has, it's due one late next year :)I'll change it myself as I've changed a few on boxer engined Alfa Romeos :)
  10. Something to think about then. I'm not too fussed about the burble tbh, this is a stopgap for the year until I can find a nice tidy Classic Wagon WRX STI v4-6.
  11. Ah ******! That sucks, back to the drawing board :( Thanks though!
  12. Basically I've come across a Prodrive exhaust for little money as mines !Removed!, thought it was blowing from a joint but it's actually rotting away!! Question is this, it's from an RB5, can I fit just the catback sections straight onto my classic N/A wagon? Thanks peeps!!
  13. I've always used camskill, I've got Pilot Super Sports on the GTA which are just outstanding, better than the Pilot Sport 3s that I had previously. I'd love to go up a size to 16" so I can get the PS3s tbh.
  14. Thanks for the reply guys, issue I'm finding is getting good quality tyres in 15" form. Best I've found are Continiental Premium Contact 5 or Vredestein Sportrac5 tyres for £55-£48 respectively. So I have looked around on here and ebay for 16" alloys with tyres for the same price as that'll help me in the future :)
  15. Righty guys, this is my 1st post in this section. In the rain this evening I was rather alarmed at being able to do 4 wheel drifts round corners and having next to !Removed! all grip. So my question is, what's the best tyres that these Impreza's like? Any cheap 16" alloys going for sale with tyres? The current alloys are 15" alloys with 195/60/15 tyres which are just shocking, hell my GTA could leave it for dead through the twisties and that's front wheel drive ;)
  16. Cheers guys, tbh I'm rather shocked at how good condition the car is in for the price!! The exhaust needs tweaking as it's blowing from several sections, the backbox needs a proper good polish and the alloys need tidying but that's all I am going to do. Not going to bother modding it as no point on a non turbo doh!
  17. Just wanted to pop my head in and say hello :) Picked up my 1st Impreza yesterday for the sum of £400, bought the car from a friend who owned it for a good few years, I needed an estate for work so this made the most sense :) It's done 180k, goes better than what I was expecting (not as quick as my other motor though), it's quite tidy and next to no rust at all!! A new clutch was fitted late last year, this year the spark plugs were changed, along with new HT leads and new coil packs to cure a slight misfire, it's also had an oil change recently with all the fluids changed as well :) Just a quick photo attached but I do love driving it!! Next year I shall look for a WRX Wagon I think!
