New WRX STI remap
The fastest stock bottom end Subaru in the world has a 2.5! It has over 600bhp and was run hard for a couple of years before the owner wanted a forged engine. The tuner who built it says the 2.5 tolerances can be a bit hit and miss out of the factory but when you get a good one they can take good power. Another US tuner claimed it was poor ecutek/open source or un-mapped mods mapping that was killing 2.5 lumps coming into their garage with many having failure on the cylinder nearest the hot turbo/up-pipe/downpipe. Apparently the 2.5 is more prone to boost creep and det due to more gasses so a good mapper is essential. These are all US spec Imprezas though

2004 wrx subframe removal
Scoobyclinic took my subframe brace off my 2003 WRX when I took the car in for weight saving, they said it was part of what they do to save weight. I felt no difference in handling but tbh I don't push my car on UK bends.

Whoosh
The WRX is a great car, so much more efficient than my old EVO IV and my mates EVO V. 35mpg v's 23mpg and my 240bhp WRX killed my 280bhp EVO and when I got it to around 285bhp my mates 380bhp EVO 5 couldn't live with it. I'd love to know accurate transmission losses for the WRX, STI and EVO as there's definitely a difference between the 3.

would i need a remap after fitting this
I have it too. Pretty loud. I wouldn't map for a cat back either or the decat up-pipe. I did fit a sportscat downpipe and checked out the fueling and it needed a tweak.

Whoosh
My TD04 was quite noisey at 1bar but my TD05 at 1.3bar is quiet as hell :(

Nostalgic about cars you used to own
My wife passed her test last year and bought a 190bhp MK4 TDI. I loved it she hated it, selling it after 2 months, I was very very sad to see it go. 66.6mpg and tons of torque at 1800rpm

What's your opinion?
A slightly better response than the 1st one!! "We publicly apologise to Ben Newbery and offer to pay for a full check-over of his vehicle at RCMS in Leicester." Wasn't that kinda my suggestion?

Impreza turbo 2000 uk
what kinda mm can you get away with raising if you find yourself hitting speed bumps before you have to align again? 0?

What's your opinion?
They really are alienating their company from the Subaru community. I wonder if their shop sales are doing well enough to make them not care about the garage side, I can imagine they want to operate more like AET with Turbo sales being paramount and the tuning side saved for high end race cars/demos etc. I must admit the tuning side of AET has dropped in quality too.

What's your opinion?
I see SC have disabled visitor comments on their FB page.

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Put some Water Wetter in today!

What's your opinion?
I can't help thinking Kev is thinking this is mainly a battle against the EVO community, especially with many SC fanboys (as I used to be) seeing it wrongly and posting support/distortions. His pride is also stopping him holding his hands up in a battle with someone he's obviously taken a dislike to.
-
What's your opinion?
Kev's ill-written response has gone down like a lead balloon on Facebook, MLR and SN. ...and he can't understand the furore? Half of the disdain is now aimed at Kev!!!
-
What's your opinion?
Just admit a member of staff was out of order, all at SC were appalled/shocked and he has resigned, Then offer some form of compensation for the stress on both the customer and his car. Maybe pay RCM or a tuner of Ben's choice £1000 in which Ben can redeem there etc. The Facebook page response has aggravated more people. Something Kev will no doubt put on "joining the bandwagon"
-
What's your opinion?
The actions in the video aren't acceptable or defendable and from my experience of SN, MRL, youtube and facebook reactions 95% condemn SC's actions and reactions. It is sad Kev's honest staff may suffer, especially Pat the Map who I've always declared is the best in the business.

- What's your opinion?
Interesting statement by Scoobyclinic's Kev, they clearly aren't facing up to what has happened and using a spin that will only exacerbate matters. .- What's your opinion?
So basically Ben was too Cockney and I was too anti-social, ok.- What's your opinion?
...and that freezing waiting room!!!!- What's your opinion?
I had an experience at SC before over a sudden radiator gush but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Though I did have a break from them for a few years after. This new incident and other accounts I've read about over the last few days on MLR etc (inc physical threats) have put me off big time. - What's your opinion?
