  1. In that article it says he is to appear in court for road traffic and fraud offences and it says the undeclared mods mean his policy is void therefore he is driving without insurance. I guess your supposed to tell the delay of an engine swap as well not just your insurers. I don't like that they have said he had aftermarket wheels, they are clearly OEM astra gsi wheels :)
  2. Did the picture link work gambit? Yea they're extreme mods so a harsh punishment. I wonder what the punishment would be for maybe a couple of smaller mods like wheels and an exhaust.
  3. Just found this on the north umbria police Facebook page. A corsa has been seized for running a 2.0l turbo motor in a 1.4. Makes you think twice about trying to get away with a few mods and not telling the insurance.
  4. Get the evo they're miles better only joking test them both though even if you have made your mind up
  5. You're right there huw what I'm saying is I haven't felt the need to try them as I've always ran so called summer tyres all year round and never had a problem getting anywhere
  6. On the thread I read hatch sti's between 2008 and 2010 had a lot of issues with melted pistons but the 330s software seemed to prevent this.
  7. I personally think that's a bit of marketing BS by the industry. As long a you have a decent brand with decent tread to disperse water it will be fine all year round. Look at the good year eagle f1 as an example it's got a really good wet handling rating and I'm sure it's not gonna end up in a crash the first time you try and take a bend after the temp drops to 6°c. It seems to me like it's only over the last 4 or 5 years that the industry is trying to make us believe we need different tyres at different times of year, if you ask me if you don't live up a mountain it's a load of crap to make you part with your cash. Don't mean to sound negative about it so I guess what I'm saying is its worth buying a good brand of tyre that's performed well in group tests as long as it's not too focused on being a fast road leaning towards a track tyre and has good tread and wet grip and decent tyre life
  8. If it ain't a winter tyre or a track day tyre isn't pretty much everything else an all season tyre anyway?
  9. Ha that kid got bumped wide at one corner and he was still bitching and wiping people out 3 races later
  10. I've pulled a few sickies in my time but never to play xbox lol
  11. I can't make it again tonight covering a night shift :( have fun guys
  12. Nice one I'll have a think about it. Only had the car a week but they are a quality wheel and not often a second hand bargain like these come up
  13. Where did you buy from and how come your wanting rid of them so soon after purchase. They are a nice wheel
  14. You can be the guinea pig ;) I'm still trying to keep mine under 4k ram at the minute so not much point looking for more power yet.
  15. I cat find any decent articles from a uk source like autocar etc. I found one that says the UK is only getting a new 1.6 turbo engine. Japan is getting a 2 litre 295bhp model named the gt-s though.
  16. http://subaru.co.uk/concept-cars/subaru-levorg-concept/ This looks promising, based on the wrx. It will be interesting to see what engines we get if it is uk bound, hopefully we will get the 2 litre turbo direct injection motor that's in the US wrx
  17. Nice. Are you gonna go for a remap then? My intension was to wait a few month then add a sports cat and downpipe to go with my cat back and get it mapped but I've had an ecutek dealer say it won't void warranty as there's no way of telling it's been done however my dealer has told me that adding anything more than the cat back would void warranty and if there was any problems they could tell it had been mapped because the calibration code on the ecu changes. With this in mind I don't know if I should do it until the cars at least a couple of year old.
  18. http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/11530-wrx-sti-brakes-noise-problem/
  19. I'm sure there was someone else on here with similar issues on a new sti
  20. If only they would put the new horizon cars into forza 5
  21. Not quite as good as the real thing but at least you don't have to refuel every 5 minutes on forza ;)
  22. Have you got round to getting this fitted yet Sparky? Was wondering if you can feel any difference other than noise
  23. Yea it was good, to be fair in the first race where that little prick got hit by someone it was just a racing incident, 3 cars tried to go round the corner side by side, I gained 2 places for it, but I couldn't be arsed with him bitching about it and taking people out when everyone else in the group races clean. Anyway I should be on the next couple of weekends to try and climb back up the table :)
