  1. Yea amazing roads and hardly anyone else on them, I think the car really felt at home on those roads :)
  2. Well I've been on here since January now but haven't posted an intro as I wasn't officially a Subaru owner until today. So just picked up my wrx sti and took it for a good blast from Carlisle up to hartside then along to barnard castle to get a feel for the car on some real fun roads. I'm really liking the car so far it looks great and only seems to make sense when you start to push it a bit. I've already got a milltek cat back on it so she sounds great too. Looking forward to spending a bit more time in the car and getting a few more miles on it to loosen it up before I give it some abuse. In the past I've had a few golfs and an old bmw 328 coupe, I really liked my mk5 golf gti I had a few year ago but I think I'm gonna like the Subaru even more. If there's any meets or anything up this neck of the woods let me know I might come along for a run out somewhere. Would be great to get a few scoobs on a blast over hartside. Here's the new baby on her first day out
  3. Don't listen to any of them my 2.5 hasn't blew up yet there's nothing wrong with them
  4. I hope I can make it tonight. These victories are doing too much for ghosts ego :)
  5. I read somewhere else that most of the 2.5 issues were on the sti's anyway. Is there anyone on here had problems with a 2.5 wrx?
  6. Well is a 2.5 properly rebuilt not just as reliable as a 2.0?
  7. No when they changed the tax rules and got shot of the tax disc last year they introduced paying for your in 12 monthly payments by direct debit. It's actually cheaper than buying 2 lots of 6 month but slightly more expensive than buying 12 month outright
  8. Softens the blow a bit now that you can pay for the tax monthly
  9. Looks like you've found a good one there. Welcome to the club, I've heard these 2 are local :)

  11. Just let them race evo's but you make them race your tune and take all the air out of the tyres and put all the braking to the rear ;)
  12. I can't understand how the bands go from £285 to £485 then £500 surely the £485 band should be somewhere more in the middle of the other 2 prices.
  13. Oh wait I misread it the same rule applies to sti's I thought all cars over 255 CO2's were £500 but that's not how it worked
  14. Yea just read up on it to make sure a wrx would be either £285 or £485 depending on whether it was registered before or after that date but an sti 2.5 hawkeye is a filthy polluting car :) so it's £500 no matter what
  15. Not all 2.5's are the higher tax. If you can find a 55 plate or 06 hawkeye they are £285 it's to do with emissions so if they still sold a 2.0 turbo in the UK in 2007 it would still be £400 plus to tax
  16. Well I'll be keeping an eye on the mag to see how they got on with the car. So far they haven't had much good to say but it's only the first month so hopefully when they get a decent drive in it they will rate it a bit more.
  17. Well don't know if I should race this weekend or if ill be busy playing out in the new car and have to let you lot get some easy points for another week ;)
  18. I think you need to test drive a couple of them to see if you would be happy with a non turbo model. I had a go in a 2.0 sport a few year back and it wasn't fast by any standard but did feel planted in the bends.
  19. Just seen the new pics it looks well on them you must be happy with it. They go really well on a black car as well
  20. Do the job right and make sure you get a turbo model :)
  21. Yea the milltek is dear on the new sti it's £1250 for the cat back and nearly another grand for the downpipe and decat. The new model has too back boxes so that will add cost over the hatch version
  22. I'm picking my car up next Sunday and getting it with the milltek cat back then going to Get the downpipe and sports cat and remap when it's got a few miles on. The milltek looks good I'm not sure about Magnaflow and as for perrin I don't know if there any good or not but I tend to think the yanks will say something is great just because it's made over there.
  23. The thing is your car already has a better exhaust and a remap. The mapping was developed for prodrive by ecutek so doing these to your car would only give small gains. I've been in touch with scoobyclinic about there performance packs and after exhaust and remap your looking at going for a bigger turbo and injectors and mapped to suite.
