  1. Looks like you've found a good one there. Welcome to the club, I've heard these 2 are local :)
  2. Just let them race evo's but you make them race your tune and take all the air out of the tyres and put all the braking to the rear ;)
  3. I can't understand how the bands go from £285 to £485 then £500 surely the £485 band should be somewhere more in the middle of the other 2 prices.
  4. Oh wait I misread it the same rule applies to sti's I thought all cars over 255 CO2's were £500 but that's not how it worked
  5. Yea just read up on it to make sure a wrx would be either £285 or £485 depending on whether it was registered before or after that date but an sti 2.5 hawkeye is a filthy polluting car :) so it's £500 no matter what
  6. Not all 2.5's are the higher tax. If you can find a 55 plate or 06 hawkeye they are £285 it's to do with emissions so if they still sold a 2.0 turbo in the UK in 2007 it would still be £400 plus to tax
  7. Not a bad job these magazine road testers have got :)
  8. Well I'll be keeping an eye on the mag to see how they got on with the car. So far they haven't had much good to say but it's only the first month so hopefully when they get a decent drive in it they will rate it a bit more.
  9. Well don't know if I should race this weekend or if ill be busy playing out in the new car and have to let you lot get some easy points for another week ;)
  10. I think you need to test drive a couple of them to see if you would be happy with a non turbo model. I had a go in a 2.0 sport a few year back and it wasn't fast by any standard but did feel planted in the bends.
  11. Just seen the new pics it looks well on them you must be happy with it. They go really well on a black car as well
  12. That black one seems expensive to me.
  13. Do the job right and make sure you get a turbo model :)
  14. Yea the milltek is dear on the new sti it's £1250 for the cat back and nearly another grand for the downpipe and decat. The new model has too back boxes so that will add cost over the hatch version
  15. I'm picking my car up next Sunday and getting it with the milltek cat back then going to Get the downpipe and sports cat and remap when it's got a few miles on. The milltek looks good I'm not sure about Magnaflow and as for perrin I don't know if there any good or not but I tend to think the yanks will say something is great just because it's made over there.
  16. The thing is your car already has a better exhaust and a remap. The mapping was developed for prodrive by ecutek so doing these to your car would only give small gains. I've been in touch with scoobyclinic about there performance packs and after exhaust and remap your looking at going for a bigger turbo and injectors and mapped to suite.
  17. Nice motor. I think the 330s was only On the earlier hatches like 08 and 09 models wasn't it? Then the 320r and 340 r came later on I think it was just a different exhaust and a remap. Shame there not offering these packages on the new car yet as it's getting caught up by a few of the hot hatch crew
  18. Suits me I know a great shortcut on Le mans ;)
  19. You guys have fun but I'd much rather be doing my night shift :(
  20. The thing is though most of the people buying these cars don't have £30k. They have maybe 5-10k and a signature. And it can be used as a daily driver. If I had £30k it would be a deposit on a brand new gtr :)
  21. Do you think the 9.5 wide would poke out of the arch too much? It would have been interesting to see what they looked like. The xxr's look smart though
  22. When I lapped him on that last race that mustang was a wreck :) good laugh though
  23. Do you think you will go for the new RS then hulkster? I've tried so many cars over the last 6 month and they all have good points and bad points. The golf R is a great car and they have been getting another 70 bhp with an apr remap. It just gets so expensive with a few options
  24. Nice one. Was there any footage of raeburn where he's not crashing ;)
  25. I had a look at the second generation focus rs's on auto trader a couple of days ago, there's hundreds of them and the cheapest are still nearly £20000. I'm sorry but as good of a car as it is, it wasn't exactly that limited of a production and these dealers asking that much for a 6 year old focus thats probably been thrashed all its life is ridiculous.
