  1. I know that feeling......60k service...2 new dunlops for the rear & both front and rear white line arb's .... Damn I feel poor now [emoji22]
  2. It's cool fella, no worries at all! [emoji3] I must have spent about an hour just looking... Double checking and triple checking that I had everything back together how it was beforehand. I fully admit to being a complete novice when it comes to mechanics and engines so really appreciate the fact that everyone on here is so helpful I'm actually quite pleased with myself for doing it completely on my own ( well besides you guys & YouTube) lol but one of those situations where a little reassurance would have settled the mind
  3. Well everything seems to be working properly after yesterday's little adventure with the intercooler. Although on the test drive home all I can say is OMG the response from the car is insane once it comes on full boost! [emoji33]another plus is my boost gauge now appears to be working accurately and properly and now even changes colour and flashes red at peak boost 1.5 bar ... It never did that before so I must have had a vac leak somewhere, still it's all good now and it means I can avoid the dreaded heart attack moment when you **** your pants and think !Removed! I broke something before realising that you have hit fuel cut
  4. Lol look what I found buried under the intercooler... Shame I didn't find the socket I dropped a few weeks back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Well that was almost fun ... just starting... Panicking halfway thru... The fight to put humpty back together again She's aliiiive [emoji4] Never be afraid to try something new even if you fail perseverance and patience will get you the rest of the way Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks savage & stants all tips are a big help ... I'm a complete novice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Got it, got them all done up tight too found the trick is to undo the y pipe end of the hose as then they all fit together when you pull it onto the throttle housing ... Just need an 8mm socket and an extension bar to nip it all up!! [emoji41] Just need to refit the recirc valve and button up a few bolt and bits Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks for the advise... I'm currently struggling with this [emoji22] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Why oh why do I have silly ideas... That's a scary thing for someone who's not in any way a mechanic... Intercooler about to come out [emoji33] Well she came out with no problems... Replaced a couple of vacuum pipes ... Now the !Removed! hard part... How does it go back Oh and managed to stick a new panel filter in too
  10. Just a reminder Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Made a feeble start on replacing my vac lines before light failed ... Maybe have to do the rest at the weekend in the man-cave at work as I don't have one at home [emoji22] Although, have test driven after .. I guess even the smallest of vac leaks makes a huge difference in the response from throttle [emoji33] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Yay...new toys to fit later [emoji41] New vacuum hose finally arrived Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. for anyone with an iPhone... i use an app called OsmAnd DVR it cost £2.99 for the full version ( there is a free version to try out ) and does a !Removed! good job turning your phone into a good quality dash cam. it has some good features built in and manages to use all of the iPhone gizmos to its advantage i.e impact detection,GPS positioning linking to the maps app and also gives you a reasonable HUD with speedo and direction of travel Also any recordings are auto uploaded to a cloud server which the app gives you your own IP address to access from PC I have an iphone 6+ and even in low or no street lights driving the picture quality is better than reasonable. ok now for the down sides .. you cant use your phone to steam music at the same time or use it as a sat nav as it is not quite fully integrated although that may change with an update or 2 in the future Also it can be a bit of battery siphon so only use when connected via usb and make sure you dim the screen or on a long drive it will drain the battery even plugged in. that said it is still pretty good value for money ..even more so if you just use the freebie although you need the full version to unlock certain features
  14. Finished messing around with centre console for now, anyone know the best way to change the dial light colours? I had a little look while it was apart and it seems that the bulbs themselves have little green rubbers on them... Is it possible to get blue ones?
  15. Ty fella, it's nice to get effort acknowledged...took a couple coats of autoglym followed by a couple coats of meguiars tech wax 2 but the result speaks for itself [emoji7]
