  1. Here I go rushing in again,OBD reader waiting when I got home right says I lets get going; download app whack in Bluetooth gizmo sync and we`re away. Yes that seems to work I`ll get a better look at tomorrow or weekend, can I get the reader out of the port nope it`s stuck tight will not budge. My question is having never used one before and seeing that little red light on will it run the battery flat if left in overnight, and second how the hell can I get it out and should I have somehow pulled the port out of its aperture first before connecting OBD reader. Thanks in advance.
  2. Thanks for that Jay762. Yeh think I'll steer clear from calling it the whip, can't be doing with all this hippety hoppety nonsense.
  3. This from my daughter "hey dad when can we go for a cruise in your fresh whip"? This translates to dad when can you take me for a drive on your new car. Apparently whip is what young people call cars these days. Thinking about calling it the whip from now on.
  4. HI bitman it came with a 2 month old set of Avon ZV5's ,I can get them locally for 74 pound each but will probably upgrade to a better wet weather tyre when they expire. Thanks
  5. As requested pictorial evidence of my recent purchase, fully understand the need for this evidence;can't just let anyone in ;) Put in a full tank of v power think I'll stay with it can't do any harm.
  6. Hopefully get some pics tomorrow, I don't know if anyone can help me on this thread but suddenly realized I'm not sure if I should be careful as to what fuel is going to be best for this engine. Should I be aiming for v power or something similar, be interested on what you guys think.
  7. Just returned home with my 05 plate 2 litre turbo Forester in black, after missing out on two the previous week. A few parking scratches nothing serious and drove down the M25 andM1 just playing about with the accelerator, its parked on the drive and I'm desperate for the wife to say she wants to go the garden centre.(for the first time)
  8. Yeh 90 per cent certain this is the road i'm going down,i have a little time to my self this weekend so I can set things in motion. Need to get a move on I've already lost some of my hard earned to some interior doors for the house. Thanks every one.
  9. Thanks for that liking the idea of owning one more and more now, practical, bags of grip and apparently gives you a big smile. Strange originally looked at outlanders and although I haven't dismissed them outright the thing that steered me away from foresters (their shape) is now an appeal, not too many about and will be the only one in the car park at work.
  10. Hi all Posted a quick line in the Forester forum this am and have only just noticed this section. Anyway as I posted previous I have persuaded the wife we need at least one estate car in the household, but I keep swinging from outback to forester (not the first apparently) something I'll sort out when I can get my backside into a couple, looking forward to hopefully contributing in the future. Cheers
  11. Thanks for that I've read through a fair bit of the forum and it doesn't seem to much of a problem. So time to push on and get some test drives lined up;oh and jump over to the newbie section I missed in my haste this morning.
  12. Hi all, Looking at purchasing my first Subaru,I've done the hard work and persuade the wife that we need one estate car in the house, my question is should I be concerned with 96-99000 miles on the clock on say a 2 litre Forester, looking at keeping it for about 4 years. I have to trade in my reliable Honda Accord so just how reliable are Foresters on the whole, know my wife will be waiting to say "should have kept the Honda" Thanks in advance.
