  1. Well this week I have mainly been.....................MAF sensor, O2 sensor, plugs from bosch to NGK ( this has changed the idle to a smoother one and got rid of a hesitation, flat spot I had)and looking at things to buy like the perrin ram intake and a 3 inch downpipe and a custom 2.5inch exhaust and a walboro 255 and and and...gotta stop window shopping lol
  2. new ngk's in and flat spot gone...yay
  3. yeah it had a full service at 100k, all fluids and filters , new air filter, might just swap a walboro in with an external wrx filter in the bay
  4. HiI own a 2007 Forester XT, I love it but I can be a bit OCD where my car is concerned, I am a aircraft engineer by trade and really am a bit difficult about things being right. The car has a full subaru service history with every stamp. On medium throttle it feels like there are flat spots in the middle rev ranges, seeing as the engine has done 100k I just changed the o2 sensor and maf sensor anyway as they were not expensive and at that amount of miles I would want to have done that before I start chasing power anyway, the flat spots are still there, I pulled the plugs and whilst in perfect condition and look quite new they are Bosch FR7N133 which is the bosch plug for these engines, I note that ngk should be used and honestly I have had issues with bosch plugs on a audi before, is the Subaru picky with plugs and would I be better off fitting the ngk's?Thanks for your help in advance
  5. late model forester 2.5 XT has 565cc injectors
  6. so what we are saying is plan for a forged rebuild, was thinking of having a mahle forged later on anyway
  7. Thanks guys I have a 2007 forester 2.5XT with a full subaru service history and I will be servicing it myself religiously with quality supplies , I have been looking at the grimspeed AOS. In the future I will do a intake, downpipe and exhaust with a tune, maybe later going to bigger turbo, fuel pump and intercooler with mapping being done by alan jeffrey in Plymouth, so it looks like knock is the demon here, think I will ask alan to map it a bit safe , worth the loss in power for the added knock protection. once again thanks for the info
  8. Just a quick question, I have seen some info slating the EJ25 engines but after only having my forester for 4 days now I love its flexibility , do they really chew through ring lands as a standard car?
  9. yeah the Z was fun, especially in the wet, thanks for the welcome guys
  10. Edited cause its been a long day
  11. Well its been 24 hours now since I picked up my 2007 Forester 2.5XT and to be honest I frickin love it, I am coming from a mildly tuned Legnum VR4 to this and I feel so much happier driving the FSXT than I ever did with the legnum, even on standard shocks and ride height the ride is very compliant and controllable, it does lean a bit too much though so some 22mm whiteline sway bars are going on, the only down side is that when I got it home after a long drive I had noticed a surging to the acceleration on mild to moderate throttle changes , I plugged in my diagnostic and the O2 sensor is looking quite lazy with only one sweep of voltage per second and slow to react to throttle input, have ordered one of them already and that will be fixed by this weekend so it should all be gravy by then....roll on fossie ownership
  12. Hi Just bought a 2007 Forester 2.5XT with full Subaru service history and 102k miles.....loving it. Hopefully chat with you and beg for info when I need it ( which will be a lot as I tend to be a bit of a must know everything about my cars kind of person) Previously owned a 452bhp Nissan 300zx and just moved on from a Legnum VR4
