Tips and tricks to make car 'shine'
I use auto smarts Duet wash and wax soap once a week, that's after knocking the rough off with weakish TFR soap. After that it's out with the wax it wet from autoglym. For a deep clean I use evo3 cutting compound from auto smart. Use an electric buffer and plenty of water in a spray bottle with a drop of wax it wet mixed in for better lubrication. Then out with the auto glym resin polish to finish. Not very environmentally friendly but the best thing to remove tar from paintwork is diesel, just wipe over the top with a sponge till it dissolves, no damage to the paintwork either 😀

I'll come down, see what the crack is. I'll see if a few lads near me want to come with their motors too.

Subaru non turbo 2.0
Hi. Everyone's opinion will differ on what oils and such but I'd say use millers oil and Mann filters, keep away from supermarket stuff! Ngk plugs are a thumbs up. You mention the radiator? Is it leaking? Next thing would be to examin your MOT certificate for advisories that need sorted asap like corroded brake pipes.. id also take the back drivers wheel off and remove the plastic cover off the fuel inlet pipe. It accumulates debris behind it and rots the pipe.

My 2000 turbo.
From what I can find they were an optional wheel. They look better than the others too, at least in my opinion. Each to his own. Mine is a bit colour coded too, and it has a leather interior that I found last year. Not so original then! Haha.

My 2000 turbo.
Ah but they are Subaru alloys.. I've known the car for a long time and it's always had these on. Was there not an option for alloys when you bought one new?

My 2000 turbo.
It needs a new exhaust from the cat back so I am going to put a stainless steel centre section and original Subaru STI back box. I've got a 6 month old system for a 2000 turbo that's genuin Subaru as well. That took a long time to find at the right money! It needs a new alarm as the original has bit the dust and only opens with the key, and apart from servicing it and only running it in summer not much else! Iam a sucker for keeping it original.

Parts for sale.
Hi there, I have a few parts for sale from a job lot I bought yesterday. There's 2 back boxes, one of them is a genuine STI silencer. Theres a classic low spoiler that's a bit scratched so will need painted. Lastly there's a TD05H turbo in good condition with no play. If you want a certain part make me an offer. I live in Cumbria but might be able to deliver as I am a truck driver..

Cheers. I am getting an exhaust made at V R Racing in Kendal they are making it how I want so I'll put a new sensor in then.

Anyone after a classic 2000 turbo?
When I got mine the arches were bubbling but I got that sorted. It just has the look of mine and it turned out to be a good one. being un modified at that age is very rare.

Anyone after a classic 2000 turbo?
Hi everyone, I signed up yesterday and got some good advice, thanks to those guys. Ive seen this classic 2000 turbo while looking for a run about and I'd say it's worth a look as it looks a clean example that hasn't been modified much, might suit a purist looking to keep it original like me. I can't upload a link but it's at ACL cars in Birmingham. Oh and any advice on which spark plugs are best for a standard 2000 turbo would be a big help. Thanks.

Co2 problems
I will check the air filter and put some new plugs in, I've got a list to do over winter.. I need a new exhaust I think but to keep it standard off Subaru would be nearly £800.. And that's just for cat back! I think not. I want a stainless system that looks like the original with twin tail pipes, I can't find anything suitable as its all massive slash pipes, any ideas would be appreciated. I got it passed with a mix and match but it bothers me that there's still a problem.

Co2 problems
No there's no warning lights on, the cat is coming up 17 years old so it could be that, it just baffled me because it passed the other emissions tests.

Co2 problems
It's completely standard with 80k on the clock mate

Hi, I am now to the owners club and I am after some advice, my 2000 turbo failed it's MOT on its idle emissions but passed on everything else no problem. Can anyone shed any light on the cause?
