  1. OK so I'm going to have another look at the car today. The speedo is working but not sure if it can take the speed of the rear wheels. I'm hoping something just needs cleaned.
  2. I've just fitted new front wheel bearings to the XV and when taking it for a test drive today its brought up a fault code po500 and the abs hill start etc have been disabled. Now po500 code is speed sensor related. I have heard that some aftermarket bearings don't have the magnetic pick up for the speed sensor. Does anyone know if you can check if its the sensor or not? Thanks. Norrie.
  3. Fitted new front wheel bearings, new calipers, discs and pads. Just waiting on new sliders now.
  4. OK I've had a look online and believe it to be 220nm. I stripped off the old bearings today and decided to paint the back plates and caliper brackets. I've got all new brakes to fit as well discs, pads and calipers. As for removing the old bearings I used an air chisel which made the job much easier.
  5. OK so I'm fitting new front wheel bearings tomorrow as one of them is grumbling. Does anyone know the torque for the driveshaft nuts? Thanks. Norrie.
  6. No I still need to do this. I've bought an alignment tool so hope I can do it myself. The old bushes were well goosed at 91,000 Miles.
  7. Fitted Powerflex poly bushes to the front wishbones on the XV the other day. Seems to have tightened it up nicely.
  8. Hi guys, Just a heads up that I was looking for Poly bushes for my XV but Powerflex didn't list them. I checked oem part no's and found they were the same as the Impreza and Forester so contacted Powerflex. They now list them for the XV. I plan on doing my front wishbones with them.
  9. Cheers.
  10. Does anyone have the spec for setting up the tracking on an XV? Thanks.
  11. Yeah I probably will today but it was raining and dark last night. 🤣
  12. I had the same problem with my XV and they replaced the aerial under warranty.
  13. Does anyone know the size. Of the anti roll bars on an XV? I want poly bushes as the rubber ones are only lasting about a year. I see that they Powerflex list about 3 different sizes. Thanks.
  14. That's very interesting as I've always heard good things about the Yokohamas fitted from new. I've emailed there customer service department so I will see what they say. The thing is I've got Yokohama on the rear and they've still got 6mm of tread and I do like to keep all the tyres the same make.
  15. Hi there, I've got the standard Yokohama Geolander G95 tyres fitted to the XV and have been great up until now. The car is all over the place in the wet. The front end just has no grip in the wet. I've checked the tyres today as I though it was time for a new set on the front. There is still 4mm of tread on the front tyres however there starting to crack. The tyres were produced at the back end of 2016 so probably fitted early 2017 so only 3 years old. Anyone else had similar problems? I do wonder if they've gone hard with age as I take them off in the winter as I have dedicated winter wheels and tyres. Your thoughts please. Thanks. Norrie.
  16. OK so it looks as though the bushes could do with being done on my XV. I can get aftermarket wishbones with new bushes and ball joints for £58 made by Japan parts. Has anybody had any experience with these parts? Not sure whether to go down this road or just renew the bushes with genuine Subaru. I don't want poly bushes as I live up a farm track. Thanks. Norrie.
  17. Just spoke to Subaru and new wishbones are £320 for the right hand side and £237 for the left. Why there is such a difference in price I've no idea. There's no way I'm paying that much. I don't want to poly Bush as I live up a rough farm track so think it's better to have some give in the bushes. I think I might try aftermarket arms and if they don't last re-bush the original arms. The bushes aren't clunking or anything just feel the car moving around more than it used to. Norrie.
  18. Ok so it looks as though my wishbone bushes are needing done. Now the question I have is do I use original equipment bushes and re-bush the arms or go for aftermarket arms that come with new bushes/balljoint already fitted. I was quoted £58 each made by Japanparts. New bushes from Subaru are £45 and £35 for ball joints. So £70 plus labour to fit them as I don't have a press. Might as well do the drop links at the same time. These are £50 each from Subaru or £15 each aftermarket. What do you guys think? Thanks. Norrie.
  19. The XV is amazing in the snow especially with winter tyres.
  20. Decided to keep the car now as I can't get anything else decent without spending a lot more money. Norrie.

  22. My XV has developed a suspension rattle again and although no actual bush is completely away I am looking at replacing the D bushes on the anti roll bars as you can see they are wearing quite badly. My question is where is the best place to get them and should I go genuine? They look easy enough to do. The car is just under 3 years old but got 67000 Miles on it so not covered under warranty. The fronts were replaced under warranty during the summer but already wearing quite badly. Thanks. Norrie.
  23. Well I’ve managed to cure the clutch judder. When towing the trailer that we have I dumped the clutch and floored the accelerator making the clutch slip for a few seconds and now no more judder.
  24. Was away with the caravan at the weekend and when monuvering the caravan back into its space at home you could smell the clutch. Anyway since then the clutch judders as you Lift the pedal. Now the car is only 2.5 years old with 60,000 Miles on it. Surely i shouldn’t be having trouble with the clutch at this age/mileage? Anyone else had problems and do you think i will have any success with a warranty claim? And yes i know clutch linings are not covered but come on. I’ve also noticed that the belt tensioner is leaking oil. Norrie.
