  1. Sold
  2. A set of four 17" alloys. I believe these came off a Legacy but I had them on my XV as a winter set. They need a refurb but are straight and true. Will also fit a Forester or Impreza. Based in the Scottish Borders but travel to Edinburgh most days for work. £60.
  3. Subaru XV spare wheel for sale . 17" alloy that came off a 2015 model. Got corrosion on the diamond cut part but was only used as a spare. Looking for £50 and located in the Scottish Borders and work in Edinburgh. Thanks.
  4. That's interesting as I was considering replacing my 2015 diesel XV but was put off by the mpg figures quoted. Are they any good for towing? Thanks. Norrie.
  5. Ok so it's stopped working altogether now. Phoned Subaru for a price and it's £400. 😮 I mean wtf? Subaru are now taking the **** with there prices.
  6. Ok so it looks as though my rear subframe bushes are away on my XV. I am thinking of fitting the Whiteline poly bushes. Has anyone done this job and how did you do it? im wondering if it can be done with the subframe in place rather than dropping the whole rear end of the car. Thanks. Norrie.
  7. Ok so my horn has stopped working on my 2015 XV. It sometimes works if the steering wheel is in the a certain place. Having Had a look on Google etc it looks as though it’s the clock spring that has gone. Has anyone else had any issues with the horn? Thanks. Norrie.
  8. I had my clutch done last year including replacing the flywheel and it was £850 but that was me sourcing all the parts and the labour is cheap in the Scottish Borders. Subaru wanted £2000. As for the rust most cars do rust a lot underneath and you are getting having a coating applied to stop it.
  9. OK so had the clutch and flywheel done and it was £845 in total including the labour which I didn't think was too bad. You have to shop around for the parts though as there are huge price differences.

    Clutch

OK so got the clutch done and had the flywheel replaced at the same time. It was £845 in total which I didn't think was too bad. Had to laugh though as was told to get LUK as they're good quality but the LUK flywheel I bought had a Sachs flywheel In the box. The original was Sachs though so all good as that lasted 100k.
  11. My 2015 often blows white smoke when it's doing its self clean which I believe is normal. You can go to a place that can clean it.
  12. OK so the clutch on my XV has just started to slip. What sort of cost are you talking for replacement? Also is it worth doing the flywheel at the same time? Thanks.

    Clutch

OK so my clutch has started to slip and looking at replacing it. Has anyone had one done lately and if so how much was it? Also is it best to replace the flywheel at the same time? Thanks.
  14. Now fitted the genuine Subaru bearings and everything is good. 👍
  15. That's a difficult question to answer. We had a transit that had simaler problems. We ended up having the guts of the dpf removed and remapped the ecm. I would imagine the reason for fuel in the oil is when the car trys to regen it injects extra fuel into the cylinders and I think sometimes the fuel bypasses the rings and dilutes the oil.
  16. OK so managed to get genuine ones off ebay from ICP for £120 each. Let's hope these ones are correct. Thanks. Norrie.
  17. Manged to get genuine ones off ebay from ICP for £120 each so here's hoping that they are correct.
  18. Managed to order genuine Subaru ones off ebay from icp for £120 each so here's hoping that they will be correct.
  19. OK so I needed new front wheel bearings and ordered aftermarket ones online and after fitting through up a load of fault codes for the abs etc. On removing them and measuring them they are only 11mm deep into the hub where the original ones are just over 14mm. I've phoned Subaru for genuine ones and they are £306 each. 😯 I beleive Impreza, Forester and Legacy all use the same bearings. Has anyone else had this issue and where did you get the correct bearings from? Thanks.
  20. Hi there, OK so I needed new front wheel bearings and ordered aftermarket ones online and after fitting through up a load of fault codes for the abs etc. On removing them and measuring them they are only 11mm deep into the hub where the original ones are just over 14mm. I've phoned Subaru for genuine ones and they are £306 each. 😯 I beleive Impreza, Forester and Legacy all use the same bearings. 21. OK so I got another set of wheel bearings today and they are the same as the other ones I had fitted. I've phoned Subaru for a price of genuine ones and they are £306 each. 💷😯
  22. OK so I think I've sussed it. It looks as though the automatic gearbox has a seperate transfer box but the manual hasn't. Anyway I've ordered the oil so will let you know how I get on.
  23. OK so had it plugged into a diagnostic computer today and no out put from both front wheels. Stripped the new bearings back off and measured them and they are 3mm shorter than the old ones. Fitted the old bearings back on and no fault codes. Ordered new bearings and returning the other ones. On the plus side I'm an expert at doing Subaru wheel bearings now as had them stripped 4 times. 🤣
  24. Going to change the manual gearbox and diff oil shortly. Having a look on the net it looks as though that it has a diostixk and you have to refill it through there. Also is there a seperate transfer box to change the oil on? Thanks. Norrie.
  25. Stripped both bearings back off today and the only thing I can see is slight damage on one of the sensors. Cleaned and rebuilt everything and still the same fault. Hoping to get it plugged into a diagnostics laptop at some point next week.
