The timing belts will have to come off in order to remove the heads and get to the gaskets, there will be marks on the pulleys which will have to be in a set position when the belt is put back on.

 

If you want to you could use a dab of white paint to mark belt position in relation to pulley.

if in doubt ,get sniff test,to verify ,think its about 10gbp,one wway to find out ,if head gasket,for sure,but those guys above me,know there stuff :0)
