mikewrxturbo Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Hi all. I picked up my classic wrx wagon and after driving it for the last 2 days I have noticed a slight hissing noise coming from the front section of the exhuast. Only noticed it as I exit the car and wait a for a bit for it to cool down. Obviously driving round it hardly notices due to the growling of the Scooby but I'm assuming it will get worse and and I'll lose power ?. Any tips on pin pointing the hole or split ?. Thanks.
savage bulldogs Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 To find exhaust blows that aren't showing sooty deposits that can be seen by eye, I normally start it from cold get someone to stick their foot over or block the tail pipe and have a listen to locate it . Don't block it for too long (release the pressure now and then) Usual scoob joints that leak are ... turbo outlet Both Up pipe outlet (to turbo) and inlet (from headers) Downpipe to centre section joint . 3
savage bulldogs Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 No probs mike [emoji106] It's a bit of a crude method but it normally works [emoji6] edited my first post a bit as you definitely need a assistant so the gasses don't build up too much .
