ChrisValentine Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Hey, I'll be getting a panel filter and back box for my 1998 Subaru Impreza turbo. Will I need to get it mapped? Or will it still run fine without? What are the gains, if any, of getting it mapped at the same time? Thanks in Advance, Chris
stants Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Shouldn't have to as your only changing the breathing element. Mapping will release more power, torque, better fuel economy and massive grins [emoji51] yours being a 98 car you'll need to get a daughter board (esl) or aftermarket ecu (apexi) Sent from my SM-G850F
ChrisValentine Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 Ah OK. As long as it doesn't make the car any worse by not getting it mapped after adding both filter and exhaust. I'll probably get it mapped after I get my NCB Bonus back again, so that I can afford the insurance as I assume it would be classed as an Engine Mod. (Was driving other cars on different insurances, so lost 9 years NCB :( ) Thanks Stants
quit Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 should be fine mate, its normally the decats that thro up EML lights
