Forester 2.0 XT MY2013 Windscreen

Featured Replies

During the storm Monday night slates came off the roof and smashed the windscreen, Insurer uses AA AAuto Windshields and they have had trouble sourcing a new screen, evnually got oone for fitting in a few days time. As this windscreen as the moisture sensor and is heated should I be aware of anything else to watch out for when the engineer fits it?

Make sure it is the right screen for your car. Some recent posts on the Kia forum, where the windscreen companies are fitting standard screens, that do not have the inbuilt sensors required on higher spec cars. This has even happened at a dealer, where they got the windscreen firm in to fit it. Don't let them near your car, until you have checked they have the right screen.

Thanks Rizmo, any idea how I can identify the correct screen?

Need to interrogate the fitter, and ensure he has the paperwork to identify the right screen. Check that all moulded in cables are present and any connectors on the screen edge are also present. Worst case is to have basic screen fitted, under protest, so at least you have a useable car, then badger screen firm/insurance company until you get the right one.

I wouldn't have wrong one fitted. If did come with wrong one best left until right one supplied.
