nitro12 Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Can mappers do a general engine health check? Recently bought a 2001 forester turbo and I'm not convinced it's running quite perfectly, had my works code reader on it and it mentioned can sensor, fit one and it doesn't seem any different, would like to get a 'health report' to see what's going on
savage bulldogs Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Dud you do a ecu code reset after fitting the new sensor as it might just be a old stored code . As for a health check have a google for a local 4wd dyno (preferably with scooby experience) should cost about £50 for a dyno run and printout of boost, hp, torque and afr which should point out if it's running safe
nitro12 Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 I'll do that, sounds cheap enough for a rough price, is it something that only certain mappers do or would it be considered a basic job that any of them could do?
savage bulldogs Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Anybody with a 4wd dyno should monitor afr , knock and det while dyno' ing a car but one that knows his scoobs would be a bonus bud
confusedbrog Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 There's a subaru specialist at Carnforth, tegsport.
nitro12 Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 Cheers for that I forgot about them, and I've used them through work as well :-/
