Aftermarket cruise control

Featured Replies

I'm considering buying a 2004 forester sti, however one thing puts me off is the fact that there is no cruise control. Had a fast legacy many years ago and lost my licence at 137mph. So I don’t want a repeat of this and if I have cruise control I will quite happily just sit doing the legal limit for most of the time but without it I have tendency drive fast all the time.

So has anyone had any experience of fitting an aftermarket cruise control kit to a Japanese imported sti forester?

I'd be interested in that as well, I already have a Foz STi and I miss the cruise control that I had in my XTEn

I guess it would be a bit of a pain as the ecu would probably need changing to one with cruise then need mapping to be able to get the most of out of the sti side of things,

Kits do exist, cruise control not that complex really, it just controlling throttle & reading speed signal data. If you google cruise control kits you will get some results/info. The kits can work with most cars & have settings to work with varying types of manufacturer sensors, come with stalk or dash mounted control unit.

i have done that with my 1988 Renault 25 Turbo-D back n the time. i sourced all the original kit from a breaker and with some smoke and solder i had original cruise control  B)

here's the thing; you will need an electric schema to know where to hack and what to get...
