ben.rowed
Ok I have a forester at the moment as a runabout hey what the heck it came up super cheap and has been extremely well cared for ... I'm using it as a run about at the moment whilst I finish up saving for what I'm thinking about getting , which is a Subaru Impreza WRX STI hatch 2010+ model , what I would to know is I see a lot of people going on that the 2.0 engine is a lot better and reliable more so than the 2.5 lump is this true ? I'd like to be running 450+ bhp and more when I get it I'm aware off all the necessary things that will need to be done forge top and bottom end etc but I'm fairly new to these sort of engines and which one is best to have ... So any advise would be amazing Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
Tidgy
450 is pretty much gonna be a fresh build engine so a 2.5 will be fine around that (built right), 2.5 is a less revvy engine than the 2.0 but has alot more low down grunt. Other option is to have 2.0 stroked to 2.1. For road use i would go 2.5, Im going that route but aiming for 500-550 so had the block converted to closed deck. My7 advise would be go see a specialist and chat through options and costs. 450bhp will need alot of supporting mods to run reliably and safley so your gonna be into 5 figure sums
ben.rowed
Thanks man what about anything over 450 does that then change things ? Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
stants
Even more money ! But if you went straight for the top hp goal it would cost less in the long run than doing it in stages
ben.rowed
Yer I suppose it would , to be honest I need to find a happy medium of what is enough for a daily but still to have to use on a track etc if that makes sense so people recon that the 2.5 lump will be fine for that sort of power and uses ? stants
Or just get someone to build you a 2.1 or 2.3 short block stick your heads on then sell the 2.5 to recuperate some over the outlay
